Brad Rosenheim<p>If the system produces two really bad candidates, then the system is wrong and not me.</p><p>If neither of the two corporations who produce those candidates refuses to stop existential problems like climate change, then the system is wrong and not me. </p><p>If the system refuses to stop genocide but keeps producing weapons to carry it out, then the system is wrong and not me. </p><p>And, certainly, if the system doesn't allow me to protest against the "lesser of two evils" to push that person even less evil, well, then the system is wrong and not me.</p><p>None of this, NONE of this, means I am incapable of making a measured political decision in the near future, even if I throw up a little in my mouth while doing it, but I am also capable of holding on to my conscience if my push toward less evil goes unheeded. One cannot and should not be mad or frustrated with me for that; one must consider how the system is impervious to the desires of its citizens before siding with the system over those who don't/can't/won't participate.
