Diotima<p>Reminder, you're still an ahole if you dont CW sensitive posts. Politics, porn, gore, and icky news being the real offenders. </p><p><a href="https://bardicperspiration.club/tags/cw" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cw</span></a> <a href="https://bardicperspiration.club/tags/ContentWarnings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ContentWarnings</span></a></p>
Daniel<p>Hej fedivenner. </p><p>Hvad siger I?</p><p><a href="https://social.data.coop/tags/dkmastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>dkmastodon</span></a> <a href="https://social.data.coop/tags/f%C3%A6lleshjerne" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fælleshjerne</span></a> <a href="https://social.data.coop/tags/contentwarnings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>contentwarnings</span></a></p>
DeadTOm<p>Yeah, I'm so over it now. I'm just going to unfollow and possibly mute people who aren't CWing, or at the very least, hashtagging their political shit.</p><p>I know what's going on. Horrible, horrible shit is happening every day. I have my news sources that I trust, and I am getting my news in doses that won't drive my mental health into a chasm.</p><p>For the love of whatever it is that you personally find holy, CW your shit.</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Hashtags" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Hashtags</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/ContentWarnings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ContentWarnings</span></a></p>
Y⃒̸̷̝̜̙ͥͥͥngmar<p>People complain about content warnings for politics or nipples, but nobody uses the content warnings I want: posting of non-metric units.</p><p><a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/ContentWarnings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ContentWarnings</span></a></p>
Vayl Larkin (they/them)<p>I'm sad to see so many posts mocking the use of <a href="https://disabled.social/tags/ContentWarnings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ContentWarnings</span></a>. They're rarely used, but somehow people act like it's a major violation of their Freedums. </p><p>Have you had real, deep, lasts-for-years trauma? If you have, you might understand why a heads-up can be a welcome relief from the onslaught of triggers streaming from the media. </p><p>Flashbacks are not something you should wish on anyone, even if you Haven't had trauma yourself. Content Warnings help prevent them, period. Don't be a jag.</p>
🅰🅻🅸🅲🅴 (🌈🦄)<p>Update: test complete! Thank you all for helping 🩷</p><p>This was a test of content warning mechanics.</p><p>Findings:<br>- The search tab trending system excludes posts with content warnings from trending.<br>- Posting, and then editing to add a CW, also stops a post from trending.<br>- Removing the CW later will make the post eligible for trending again.</p><p>Note: I did not test if adding a CW would remove an *already* trending post from the trending list.</p><p>Thoughts: The way trending formula interacts with content warnings actively discourages accessibility by creating a situation where reach and accessibility considerations are at odds.</p><p><a href="https://lgbtqia.space/tags/FediTips" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FediTips</span></a> <a href="https://lgbtqia.space/tags/Search" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Search</span></a> <a href="https://lgbtqia.space/tags/Trending" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Trending</span></a> <a href="https://lgbtqia.space/tags/ContentWarnings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ContentWarnings</span></a></p>
Philipp Lunch<p>I think I need to enact similar posting and boosting guidelines as <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://ibe.social/@theresmiling" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>theresmiling</span></a></span>.(thanks for sharing them 🙂)</p><p><a href="https://social.anoxinon.de/tags/fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fediverse</span></a> <a href="https://social.anoxinon.de/tags/postingGuidelines" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>postingGuidelines</span></a> <a href="https://social.anoxinon.de/tags/ContentWarnings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ContentWarnings</span></a> <a href="https://social.anoxinon.de/tags/MentalHealth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MentalHealth</span></a></p><p><a href="https://theresmiling.eu/blog/2025/03/social-media-use" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">theresmiling.eu/blog/2025/03/s</span><span class="invisible">ocial-media-use</span></a></p>
beforewisdom :vegan:Effective CW: Tell people what is behind the content warning to help them decide what to do. This post is about nothing.
Jupiter Rowland@<a href="https://veganism.social/@beforewisdom" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">beforewisdom 🖖</a> I think filters would generally make for better #<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=ContentWarnings" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">ContentWarnings</a> than things written into the Abstract field. On the poster's side, it'd still require appropriate keywords or, better yet, hashtags in the posts, but on the receivers' side, everybody could filter what they don't want to see. Also, this would increase compatibility with #<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=Hubzilla" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Hubzilla</a> and #<a class="" href="https://hub.netzgemeinde.eu/search?tag=Streams" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Streams</a> which have a similar but rather simple feature, and which use the Abstract field for summaries.
