So tried my hand at writing a blog post about being vegan and what that means to me personally and in general.
You're all welcome to read it or ignore it, but I will be writing more on that topic (as well as stuff about coding and general things going on in my life.)
If you do read it, I hope you enjoy the read, and if you have feedback, don't hesitate to communicate it with me.
Okay, here it goes:
@jc Wow, your post is excellent! I especially liked the last few bits (I hope it's ok that I quote it here):
"Veganism enables us to view the world as a whole and develop a deep respect for life. Veganism also instills in us a desire to change, to help, to advocate for the voiceless and to fight those structures built on the exploitation, torture and murder of billions of living beings.
Veganism is not about taste, health, ease or cheap food items. It's about respecting all sentient beings' rights to live, to alleviate pain and suffering and to advocate for those that can't speak for themselves regardless of any benefit to yourself.
To be vegan means that in the war on animals, we take the side of the oppressed."
I find it difficult to articulate the nuances of veganism, so I really appreciate the work you did on this. Thanks for sharing it :)
@MelissaRatisher Thank you so much! I made my partner read over that text a dozen times cause I wanted to get it "right", so thank you, your feedback is really appreciated so much!
