I decided to annoy you with my trip. Weather in the Northern Alps is meh now, so might as well. The goal is to bike for 5 days and then volunteer to rebuild an old house for 5 days. And then join my partner who will pick me up in a camper van for 5 days.

1st part. Departing Domodosolla. The windy windey roads still in the mountains are super cute. Leaving behind opulent mansions, I'm heading East, North. Next stop Como.

2nd part of the first day. Arriving to Como. The views are very much worth it now and the hostel has an über cute secret garden.

2nd day went mostly around lake Como and oh my goodness. So much nicer. So cuter. So many things to see.
Right from Como there was some sort of a bike race, so today I was by far the slowest cyclist 😅
Half way through my bike started squeaking, so I made an emergency stop at a bike rental and the amazing guy gave me some oil for free.
Once I turned away from the lake and head up to the mountains, the headwind died and route got drier 😊

Day 3: 1km up as a first thing in the morning and then wheeeeeeeee down for nearly 35kms. Gorgeous views and totally worth it part of the trip.

The absolute food highlight of this trip so far. Fully vegan.

Day 4. If you wanted to bike next to Lago Di Garda, give it a pass. Seriously not worth it. Disneyland of the Alps. And I live in Interlaken 🤪

Past 5 days during my I've been helping to reconstruct an old village building. Moving building materials, chopping wood, fixing furniture, building walls, etc.

@MichalBryxi Joke on you: it’s not annoying.

@MichalBryxi Sounds like you have pretty great 15 days in front of you! 🤩 Enjoy!

@MichalBryxi Quite a bit of climbing, great job!

@rcr It's surprising as it was pretty much flat 😅
I've intentionally chose my accomodation for tonight just before the pass.
Tomorrow morning I will have to do 1km up 😱

@MichalBryxi Looking at your stats, it shouldn't be a problem. Still, I wish you strong legs!

@MichalBryxi I have greatest memories from Malsecine, it was fabulous, dinner in perfectly organized restaurant, followed by night walk through narrow old streets and finished by vegan gelato on shore watching full moon.
If this is Disneyland I consider visiting.

@z8th Yup, 100%. My grudge is not towards anything specific on the way to do/visit.

It's about (road) cycling experience. There is nothing to see. The whole time you see: Theme parks, massive gates from fancy villas, hotel fronts, gas stations. That's it.

Lago di Como has infite times nicer surroundings while biking.

@MichalBryxi yes everything from Malcesine to south was ugly, my Italian coleague recommended me to visit Bolsena instead, but it was too far for us, maybe later, next time I would go to Lago di Molveno probably, there is also cable car for paragliding

@MichalBryxi These views, people giving you stuff for free… Michal, can you check for me if there is a surprisingly human-like animal nearby? A huge, very lush tree? Maybe just some unusual things you see out of the corner of your eye?

I’m just curious if you’re in a live-action adaptation of a Ghibli film.

@alsorew Alps are awesome. Italians (outside of cars) are awesome.
Maybe the inspiration for those movies comes from Italy? 🤪

@MichalBryxi Looks all very nice - enjoy your trip!
