#Showers continue to push through the #Northland this evening.

Some of them are becoming heavy, especially as they go through northwest #Wisconsin.

The radar over the Northland at 7 p.m. on September 4, 2025, shows a large swath of showers pushing west to east. The heaviest extend from north of the Twin Ports south through the western half of northwest Wisconsin.

NORTHLAND FORECAST FOR SEPTEMBER 5, 2025:

A storm system will bring plenty of showers through most of the Northland Thursday night. The Rainy River Basin and the Boundary Waters will see the lowest new rainfall, with higher rainfall totals farther south. Winds remain breezy with low temperatures in the lower half of the 40s.

Wrap around showers due to a persistent low-pressure system to the northeast of the Northland will keep the wet weather conditions going for Friday. Northwest winds will become quite breezy with gusts over 30 mph possible. High temperatures will remain quite cool in the upper 40s and 50s.

The satellite and radar over the Northland at 1:30 p.m. on September 4, 2025, shows cloudy skies across the region. A large cluster of showers are pushing into the region from the west/northwest, already impacting Aitkin, Itasca, and Koochiching counties. They are moving to the east/southeast.

Temperatures in the Northland just after 1 p.m. on September 4, 2025, range from 45 to 54 degrees Fahrenheit.

When compared to 1 p.m. on September 3, 2025, temperatures in the Northland are relatively even with where they were 24 hours earlier this early afternoon Thursday. The range is 5-degrees above and 5-degrees below in Fahrenheit.

#Frost will be widespread, so do what you can to protect sensitive plants from damage.

A Frost Advisory is in effect for most of the Northland from 2 to 8 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025. The exception will be the North Shore, I-35 corridor, and Upper Peninsula regions. Temperatures in these areas could drop as low as 32-degrees Fahrenheit, leading to a decent frost.

Some widely scattered showers are being observed in northwest Wisconsin and the Arrowhead/Boundary Waters regions, moving to the south.

Temperatures in the Northland just after 1 p.m. on September 3, 2025, range from 45 to 56 degrees Fahrenheit.

The potential #severe #thunderstorm working its way through parts of the South Shore and northwest #Wisconsin continues to show some strength on the radar.

Anyone south of Highway 2 in Bayfield and Ashland counties should seek shelter. #Wind gusts could be up to 60 mph within this #storm.

The velocity radar product of a potential Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Ashland and Bayfield counties at 8:25 p.m. on September 2, 2025. The strongest wind gusts were being observed on radar along Highway 2 between Iron River and Keystone. It is moving to the southeast at about 40 mph.

One #thunderstorm making its way through the #Northland is showing signs of strong #winds near the surface.

Anyone along and north of Highway 2 west of Ashland should take shelter as it passes through.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday for northern Bayfield County and far northeast Douglas County. A thunderstorm passing through the area along and north of Highway 2 is capable of producing wind gusts up to 60 mph.

The line further west could contain some #storms with gusty #winds and small #hail. Greatest chance for this will be the #TwinPorts and I-35 corridor regions.

That is why we are seeing several rounds of #showers and #thunderstorms. A few could have strong #winds and small #hail.

The satellite and radar over the Northland at 1:20 p.m. on September 2, 2025, shows a line of showers and a few thunderstorms extending from the Arrowhead south through northwest Wisconsin, moving from west to east. This is associated with a small low-pressure system pushing through the region. Behind it is some clearing skies, but a cold front starting to push through northwest Minnesota towards the Northland will allow more showers and thunderstorms to form later today.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the I-35 corridor and parts of the Twin Ports region under a marginal risk for severe weather for the rest of September 2, 2025. This area could see a few thunderstorms that have strong winds and small hail. The rest of the Northland could see thunderstorms at times as a cold front passes through the region from west to east.

Temperatures in the Northland just after 1 p.m. on September 2, 2025, range from 61 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit. The 60s are in locations where rainfall is taking place, with 70s occurring where there is some sunshine breaking through.

Wind speeds in the Northland just after 1 p.m. on September 2, 2025, range from calm to 12 mph. Wind direction is primarily from the south and southwest, but the Rainy River Basin is starting to see a shift to the west and northwest.
