I always want green tea this time of year but the fresh stuff (i.e., tea picked right about now through early April) doesn’t make it over to me until late spring. So I saved some of last years to drink during this time.

Sorry for not responding! “Where do you get your tea?” short circuits my brain. It’s a complex ongoing adventure. I’ve bought tea from several dozen online sellers, half as many little shops in various cities. Beyond that are teas acquired by trade & gift from other tea heads. Jtea? They’re great! But, there is no one place where one can buy tea— many teas will enter your life but once never to be seen again. #tea #teaculture #teaPosting

When cold air dries your nose the perfect tea is Liu An. It also called “basket tea” as the compressed cakes are stored in bamboo baskets. This gives it a richness and a touch of the same mouthfeel as after a cough drop. The aroma is floral and a little earthy— there is something about it like honey. Today I’m enjoying some of my 2014 stash— it has grown perfectly mellow and I will have my husband and the role playing club try it too! #teaculture #tea #teaPosting #liuAn
I like my tea like I like my conifers: resinous
It’s no so bad to work on a Saturday when you have good tea! This is an oolong from 2013 and it has become very fragrant the aroma is a bit better than the taste it may have aged a few years past peak— although I love it when oolongs develop that sweet aroma! #teaCulture #teaPosting #tea #oolong
