Undiscovered ScotlandA gun of the Grand Battery in Stirling Castle's Outer Close, with the Wallace Monument and the Ochil Hills in the background. The Grand Battery was built in 1689 and saw action in 1746 against the artillery of besieging Jacobites. Undiscovered ScotlandThe Dunmore Pineapple, one of Scotland's most remarkable buildings. Perhaps the largest stone pineapple anywhere, its top stands 45ft above the level of the walled garden to its south. It was built as a birthday present in 1761.
