stephenkingjourney<p>I stop reading today with that short but very, very tragic chapter.</p><p>The next time I pick up this book it will be to finish it off.</p><p>I am now 98% of the way through Wizard and Glass.</p><p><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/TheDarkTower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheDarkTower</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/StephenKing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StephenKing</span></a></p>
stephenkingjourney<p>“Ye see what he is! What a monster he is! And this is only the beginning of it, ye ken! Ask him what happened to Cuthbert! To Alain—Alain’s touch, clever as ’twas, saved him not in the end, so it didn’t! Ask him what happened to Jamie De Curry! He never had a friend he didn’t kill, never had a lover who’s not dust in the wind!”<br>===<br>Rhea's final words of warning to Roland's ka-tet.</p><p><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/TheDarkTower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheDarkTower</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/StephenKing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StephenKing</span></a></p>
stephenkingjourney<p>Perhaps Roland also understands the truth at the last split-second—that the woman in the doorway really is his mother after all, that the thing in her hands isn’t a snake but a belt, something she has made for him, a peace offering, mayhap, that the glass has lied to him in the only way it can . . . by reflection.<br>===<br>And in this tragic moment, it is revealed that Roland has committed matricide.</p><p><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/TheDarkTower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheDarkTower</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/StephenKing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StephenKing</span></a></p>

stephenkingjourney<p>===<br>What a horrid vision to have seen about one's own mother. stephenkingjourney<p>“She ain’t there, sugar!” Susannah shouts at him. “She ain’t there or she ain’t answering the door, and which one it is don’t matter to you! Leave it! Leave her! She ain’t worth it! Just bein your mother don’t make her worth it! Go away!”<br>===<br>They're caught in a semi-dream trance watching Roland carry out some self-appointed mission back at Gilead. Something very tragic concerning his mother. Whoo-boy, we're gonna end this book on a very dark note, aren't we?</p><p><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/TheDarkTower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheDarkTower</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/StephenKing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StephenKing</span></a></p>
stephenkingjourney<p>Day 1212<br>===<br>Roland is not quite yet done with his tale as he pulls Eddie, Susannah, Jake and Oy into the pink Wizard's Glass to witness the days after the Reaping in Mejis. tittamarja<p><a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/luettua" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>luettua</span></a><br>📙 Stephen King: You like it darker</p><p>Pitkästä aikaa Kingiä. Nuorempana ajattelin, että King jaarittelee välillä liikaa, mutta nyt vain nautin siitä että tarinoiden maailma rakentui vähitellen eikä edetty vain vauhdikkaan juonen varassa.</p><p>Täytyypä alkaa lukea Kingin tuotantoa taaksepäin vuosituhannen alkua kohti, jotta saan paikattua väliin jääneet vuosikymmenet.</p><p><a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/kirjamastodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kirjamastodon</span></a> <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/kirjat" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kirjat</span></a> <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/lukeminen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lukeminen</span></a> <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/stephenking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>stephenking</span></a> <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/youlikeitdarker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>youlikeitdarker</span></a></p>

Edward Champion<p>I have finished my reread of Stephen King's IT, which I really enjoyed quite a lot. Still.holds up! Here are my thoughts on revisiting the, ahem, MOMENT on Page 1100. 🤣🤣</p><p><a href="https://youtube.com/shorts/YVfesKFYy1c?si=FiLIlj7nKxDH3TUw" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtube.com/shorts/YVfesKFYy1c</span><span class="invisible">?si=FiLIlj7nKxDH3TUw</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Stephenking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Stephenking</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>books</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/it" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>it</span></a></p>
Edward Champion<p>I'm finishing up my reread of IT and one goofy Stephen King character archetype -- seen with Richie and Jerome in the Holly Gibney books -- is the inveterate vocal impressionist. I get this image of King running around the house, annoying the fuck out of Tabitha with his voices. 🤣🤣</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/stephenking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>stephenking</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/books" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>books</span></a></p>
stephenkingjourney<p>He had told so much of that awful fourteenth year . . . but he hadn’t finished the tale. As with Detta Walker and the Blue Lady’s forspecial plate, there was one more thing. A hidden thing... he would have to tell them of the final time he had looked into the wizard’s glass in that long-ago year. Three nights past the welcoming banquet, it had been. He would have to tell them—<br>===<br>And I leave that revelation for tomorrow. I am now 97% through Wizard and Glass.</p><p><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/TheDarkTower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheDarkTower</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/StephenKing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StephenKing</span></a></p>
stephenkingjourney<p>“Roland, I don’t know what you’re thinking of, laddie, but I warn you not to—”</p><p>“Not to cross Oz the Great? Oz the Powerful? But I think I will, Marten . . . or Maerlyn . . . or whoever you call yourself now . . .”</p><p>“Flagg, actually,” the man on the throne said. “And we’ve met before.<br>===<br>Can't get more blatant confirmation than that!</p><p><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/TheDarkTower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheDarkTower</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/StephenKing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StephenKing</span></a></p>
stephenkingjourney<p>“Marten,” Roland said. He held out his left hand, the one which was still whole. “Marten Broadcloak. After all these years. After all these centuries.”<br>===<br>aka Randall Flagg</p><p><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/TheDarkTower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheDarkTower</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/StephenKing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StephenKing</span></a></p>
stephenkingjourney<p>===<br>This went from awe-inspiring and majestic to batshit crazy in mere seconds!</p><p><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/TheDarkTower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheDarkTower</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/StephenKing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StephenKing</span></a></p>
stephenkingjourney<p>Behind the curtain red and green lights flashed; cylinders spun inside glass boxes; needles moved back and forth inside long rows of lighted dials. Yet Jake barely noticed these things. It was the man who took all his attention, the one sitting at the console, his back to them. His filthy hair, streaked with dirt and blood, hung to his shoulders in matted clumps.<br>...<br>It was David Quick’s grandson. It was the Tick-Tock Man.<br>===<br>The fuck???</p><p><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/TheDarkTower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheDarkTower</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/StephenKing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StephenKing</span></a></p>
stephenkingjourney<p>“DO NOT AROUSE THE WRATH OF THE GREAT AND POWERFUL OZ!” the voice cried, and the pipes flashed furiously with each word. Susannah was sure this was supposed to be scary, but she found it almost amusing, instead. It was like watching a salesman demonstrate a child’s toy. Hey, kids! When you talk, the pipes flash bright colors! Try it and see!<br>===<br>While I may not like the over-the-head Oz references, this will be amazing to see rendered on the screen.</p><p><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/TheDarkTower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheDarkTower</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/StephenKing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StephenKing</span></a></p>
stephenkingjourney<p>“I . . . AM . . . OZ!” the voice thundered. The glass columns flashed; so did the pipes behind the throne. “OZ THE GREAT! OZ THE POWERFUL! WHO ARE YOU?”<br>===<br>I've always enjoyed seeing the subtle references to *our* world as we've explored Mid-World. But this intentional immersion into The Wizard of Oz... I'm not such a big fan.</p><p><a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/TheDarkTower" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TheDarkTower</span></a> <a href="https://social.horrorhub.club/tags/StephenKing" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StephenKing</span></a></p>
