Una macchina! (fotografica) // I finally decided to buy a camera. So far I've only taken photos with my cell phone. I'll have to study it and learn, I don't know if I'll ever be able to take photos as I'd like, but I'll take my time, and I'll try 😊

When I reply in English to a thread that’s in another language (like German), Mastodon assigns my post the language of the thread, even though I’ve written in English and set English as my default.

This means other users (e.g. German speakers) won’t see the “Translate” option, because Mastodon thinks my post is already in their language.

Is there a way to force my posts to always be in English unless I manually change it?

It just shows the default language setting (showing English as the Language) in mastodon settings.

Weiß jemand, wie der Dunkelmodus auf einem Mac mini – macOS Sequoia 15.3.1 – eigenen Bedürfnissen angepasst werden kann?

Weiße Schrift auf schwarzem Hintergrund ist auf Dauer unangenehm (mir verschwimmen die Zeilen), ich hätte das gerne abgemildert auf grau oder sowas.

Ganz auf den hellen Modus möchte ich nicht umschalten, weil ich ein der Tageszeit angepasstes Hintergrundbild auf dem Desktop habe, damit ich mitkriege, wann ich ins Bett sollte.

And now I can have the searxng of my choice set as my default search engine.

As our digital lives in the US become less stable and private, I wanted to figure out how to choose what search engine my browser uses.

I just added a new default search engine option for my Firefox on my MacBook (Mac OS).

1) add an extension to Firefox to allow me to add a different default search engine:

In this mode, all discovery, meshing and transport functionality is activated. • The gateway mode (or shorthand gw) also has all discovery, meshing and transport functionality available, but will additionally try to discover unknown paths on behalf of other nodes residing on the gateway interface. If Reticulum receives a path request for an unknown destination, from a node on a gateway interface, it will try to discover this path via all other active interfaces, and forward the discovered path to the requestor if one is found. If you want to allow other nodes to widely resolve paths or connect to a network via an interface, it might be useful to put it in this mode. By creating a chain of gateway interfaces, other nodes will be able to immediately discover paths to any destination along the chain. Please note! It is the interface facing the clients that must be put into gateway mode for this to work, not the interface facing the wider network (for this, the boundary mode can be useful, though)

Very non tech person here, but I did look at autocorerct settings on my android phone and got lost right away.

I have made certain typos so often I almost only type the typo. 'Agani' and 'kwno' amd most 'ing' words, because I type too fast (laptop, mostly and phone)

Is there a way to have autocorrect replace these constant typos automatically? I think I once knew how to remove words from autocorrect...

Translation: #Meta tightened the reins over what to put in your #feed & Explore tab, specifically from accounts you don’t already follow.

As part of the shift, #Instagram also opted everyone into a new #setting to have it recommend less #political #content from accounts you don’t follow. It did NOT alert users to this inside the Instagram #app. (If you don’t want a #sanitized feed on Instagram, #Facebook or #Threads, instructions for how to change your #settings below)
