An elderly relative in the car has just asked me whether the #SatNav uses the same voice as over the country — whether they got the same girl (!) to read out all those road names.
It really is indistinguishable from magic.
You know, I wonder if it'd be a smart idea to recommend that #satnav routers give penalty to motor vehicles on roads that have on-street bike lanes or shared lanes, or bus stops, as a second order means of traffic calming to mitigate issues that arise from impatient drivers getting stuck behind vehicles that are mechanically or operationally limited to low speeds and the danger those people place to the primary users of that roadspace.
In my "things I wish #satNav did" musings, I've said before I wish i could just get random facts about things I drive past. I also think as well as the fastest and most energy efficient route options there should also be a scenic route option :P
Thank God for podcasts! all this driving would send me nutty otherwise.
Less of this using #ai to take the fun jobs and being used to cheat business, I need the ai in my car to give me random facts about shit I'm driving past and to be able to answer the random questions that pop into my head while I'm driving. Like some sort of combined #satnav and #tismbot #asd #adhd #randomfacts #mastodaoine
I'm just wondering how many Irish #drivers use their #satnav even when they know where they are going?
Also are drivers aware that using sat nav is a way to reduce #TrafficCongestion ?
It's just something that came up when a student was surprised that I use mine every day even though I know the way, they'd never considered that it monitors traffic and alters routes accordingly.

#Regulation works: Two #USA #tech companies as well as #Tomtom are going to alter voice instructions on #satnav apps after His Majesty's #Coroner warned that unclear instructions may have contributed to a double #fatal #collision in #MiltonKeynes SE #England #driving #GNSS #RoadSafety and #NationalHighways have already altered road layout to discourage drivers entering the slip road in the wrong direction..
Every now and then I come across a road sign which raises more questions than it answers. This is one such sign I spotted today in Bowling just to the west of Glasgow.
