Good Morning, all,
no jars of Vegemite were harmed during the failure of this Aussie rocket launch...
And #RIP Jim Lovell, the only human to ever fly twice to and around the Moon without landing.

One Rocket to Rule Them All: An Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Ring of Power Delivery Feasibility Study

Taking a break from reality to watch high-speed film launches of the Space Shuttle.
Stepping back in time to a world when NASA was sending humans into space using a lot less computing power than your new TV.
It's a very calming video, watching thousands of pounds of fuel ignited as the shuttle and it's boosters slowly rise into the sky. 45mins of rockets on fire.
Very special.
We've arranged a #society based on #science and #technology, in which nobody understands anything about science and technology. And this combustible mixture of #ignorance and #power
, sooner or later, is going to blow up in our faces. Who is running the science and technology in a #democracy

Rocket Science & Autism (yes, I can and so can you)
When I say I love learning, I mean it. From neuroscience to cuneiform, my autistic brain thrives on deep dives into complex subjects. That's why I’m currently taking "Rocket Science for Everyone" at Yale University via Coursera.
Here are six fascinating facts I learned about orbital mechanics—yes, the physics that keeps satellites in space!
The world's first liquid-fueled #rocket was successfully launched on
March 16, 1926 https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/7717931893
Gilmore Space Firms up Bowen Launch Window . Cyclones past future and present permitting
The Launch Window commences 'no earlier than' March 15 for the maiden flight of Eris.

| built rocket aiming for orbit.
The test cargo.
A single jar of Vegemite.
I bet it is not even the "vegan" kind.
Bugger hey, bit risky, a whole Jar !
Good on em .
May Max Q Smile On You.

Following lengthy delays , #Ariane6 blasted off on July 9 and successfully carried out a series of trials. But the mission ended with the launcher coasting in orbit without releasing its final batch of payloads. The #Arianespace CEO said the failure had been traced to a #software flaw that would be repaired before the next launch. https://www.reuters.com/technology/space/ariane-6-set-new-launch-this-year-after-software-flaw-identified-2024-09-16
#FusionPropulsion offers 1000 times the power of conventional #IonThrusters currently used in orbit. The vacuum environment and extremely cold temperatures of space
provide an ideal setting for fusion propulsion * https://orbitaltoday.com/2023/07/14/interplanetary-travel-to-become-faster-through-nuclear-fusion/
The #FireStar Drive begins a fusion process by adding #boron into the thruster exhaust. The base thruster generates high-speed protons through the ionization of water vapor. These protons collide with the nucleus of a boron atom, which starts the fusion reaction. The technique produced ionizing radiation and increased the base propulsion unit’s thrust by 50% https://interestingengineering.com/space/nuclear-fusion-powered-electric-propulsion-drive
