The article reads as if the problem is the underwhelming refresh, and not 100% that the refresh can't take away the taint that #Musk's fascism and white supremacy bring to the brand. The dip in foreign Tesla sales has been even worse. It's like the Europeans don't like fascists or something.

I live in the mid-Atlantic region and we see a lot more new EVs that are NOT Teslas these days. The brand is undesirable due to Elmo. Their #robotaxis are also bombing.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Tuesday that it has asked Tesla for information about the apparent errors. If regulators find any major issues, that would likely raise questions about Musk’s repeated statements that robotaxis are safe. Many other videos show the robotaxis operating perfectly.

Seit 22.6.2025 fahren #Tesla #Robotaxis "autonom" durch einen kleinen, zuvor millimetergenau gemappten Teil von Austin/Texas. Der #TSLA-Aktienkurs steigt. Die ausgewählten #Fanboys feiern die ersten Fahrten.

Tatsächlich begehen die Robotaxis potenziell tödliche Fahrfehler (s. verlinktes Video). Tesla verheimlicht seine Unfallstatistik mit "supervised full self driving", der Software, die auch die Robotaxis nutzen. In denen sitzt ein Tesla-Mitarbeiter auf dem Beifahrersitz, wo er das Auto per "kill switch" jederzeit zum Stehen bringen kann. Außerdem gibt es einen "war room", wo weitere Mitarbeiter per Fernsteuerung Robotaxis wieder auf Kurs bringen können.

Das ist von autonomem Fahren so weit entfernt wie ein VW #Käfer von einem #Ferrari. Und die haben zumindest jeweils 4 Räder.
