Wait, this just dawned on me. It's so obvious it's stupid.

It makes sense that men's attraction is both more visual and that they are the one's who more often take the initiative and do the approaching. These are inextricably linked.

Whoever makes the first move has to be focused on what they see because before the first move, there's nothing else to go on.

Unfortunately for many, it seems to stop there.

In a world where women are often told to be strong, Loveable (2024) paints a powerful portrait of emotional vulnerability, childhood trauma, and the desperate need for connection. Maria’s inner journey resonates with anyone who’s ever felt silenced by the expectations of others.
A personal reflection on the wounds we carry and the voices we mistake for our own.

In need of serious advice. How do you get over the memory of an ex?

It's been exactly 2 decades since our relationship. Today's his birthday.

We have no way of contacting each other. He might not even be alive anymore. Usually he appears in my dreams and thoughts when I least expect it. I don't have any photos of him, just memories.

It feels like I'm being haunted.

Serious advice will be sincerely appreciated. Snark & insults will be ignored or blocked.

Fediverse PSA: Not all dating apps are created equal! 🚀

If you’re tired of:
• Endless swiping with no dates
• Matches who vanish after "hey"
• Vague "see where it goes" energy

I analyzed 15+ apps to find the best 5 for actual relationships in 2025:
✔️ Algorithm transparency (no shadow-banning)
✔️ Inclusive filters (LGBTQ+, ENM-friendly options)
✔️ Safety features to avoid scams
✔️ Success stories from real users

I must admit I'm surprised. I came across some #statistics outlining there are more gay #men than #women in the #UK.

Almost twice as many in fact, and even adding in #bisexuality it still tilts that way.

Why am I surprised? Well it's simply because it doesn't match my experience.

Over my six decades, I've met dozens of women who were in same-sex #relationships but only four or five men.

I can think of many possible reasons for the discrepancy, but it still feels wrong.

It's very hard to discount your own #experience as atypical. We're hardwired to think we're a representative sample

I thought I might have to mace a dude in the parking lot a few minutes ago.

My girlfriend and I were about to get in our car (after buying a bunch of ice cream for my cramps), and I overheard some guy talk-yelling. I scanned around and saw him across the lot, yelling into the driver's side of a small SUV. I watched for a few seconds, then decided to go make sure he wasn't cornering some woman.

So my girlfriend and I walk over and stand a little ways from his vehicle, watching him heatedly accuse what was probably his girlfriend of cheating. He glanced at us a couple times, and I kept waiting for him to turn his anger my direction, but he dropped the keys in the car and stormed off.

We walked over and checked on the woman, who smiled in that very 😅 sort of way, and told us she was okay—that "he's overdramatic" and they've "been through a lot together", then changed the subject by asking if we were from Seattle. She thanked us for checking in a couple more times and started walking in the guy's direction.

This was obviously an abusive relationship and she was used to deflecting inquiries about it.

I really wish I could have actually done something other than make sure he didn't escalate, but I know as soon as we left he was probably right back at her.

I hope she gets out of there.
