Extinction Studies<p>Well, A Dark Foe was a bit depraved for my taste. Didn't finish it. Day of the Jackal is slow but it's interesting.</p><p><a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/film" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>film</span></a> <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/physicalmedia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>physicalmedia</span></a></p>
Extinction Studies<p>Not that anyone's listening, or reading, or clicking, but if you click through the CW, you can see I'm planning to watch three films tonight.</p><p>1. A Dark Foe (2020), directed by Maria Gabriella Cardenas, starring Oscar Cardenas, Kenzie Dalton, Graham Greene and Selma Blair. It's an independent thriller.</p><p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Dark_Foe" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Dark_F</span><span class="invisible">oe</span></a></p><p>2. The Day of the Jackal (1973) directed by Fred Zinneman, starring Edward Fox and Michael Lonsdale. Also a thriller, about an asssassination attempt.</p><p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_of_the_Jackal_(film)" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_</span><span class="invisible">of_the_Jackal_(film)</span></a></p><p>3. Dead Man Walking (1995), directed by Tim Robbins, starring Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn, with a fantastic supporting cast. I remember this one well because I was working for an anti-death penalty group when it came out so it was very on point. It's based on real people, folks.</p><p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Man_Walking_(film)" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Man</span><span class="invisible">_Walking_(film)</span></a></p><p><a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/film" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>film</span></a> <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/physicalmedia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>physicalmedia</span></a></p>

Extinction Studies<p>Tonight, dear folks who give a fuck, I'm watching two things.</p><p>First, Stay (2005), directed by Mark Forster, starring Ewan McGregor, Naomi Watts, Ryan Gosling and Bob Hoskins. It's about the famous New York club and it's club owner who fostered hundreds of bands in the 70s, 80s and 90s. </p><p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBGB_(film)" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBGB_(fi</span><span class="invisible">lm)</span></a></p><p><a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/film" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>film</span></a> <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/physicalmedia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>physicalmedia</span></a></p>
Extinction Studies<p>Hey. I'm watching Like Water for Chocolate (1992), directed by Alfonso Arau, with an all-Mexican list of stars that you can review for yourself at the below link. It's a thriller, and the Wikipedia entry is remarkably silent, but here it is.</p><p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_Disclosure_(2001_film)" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_Dis</span><span class="invisible">closure_(2001_film)</span></a></p><p><a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/film" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>film</span></a> <a href="https://hcommons.social/tags/physicalmedia" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>physicalmedia</span></a></p>

I'm watching The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015), directed by Guy Ritchie, starring Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Alicia Vikander, Elizabeth Debicki, and Hugh Grant. I saw this in the theater when it came out and didn't much like it. But I'm giving it another go despite everything. The studio spent too much promoting it so it lost money.

Today, I visited 4 charity shops near to my mother-in-law. Really happy with my finds.

Wonder Woman 4K (£2) 'aving that!

I saw a normal-sized DVD case of The Prisoner, a show I haven't seen since the 90s.

I thought it was the old thing of a couple of episodes with a magazine every month because of the thin case. Wrong. Complete series on 6 DVDs, £1. Lot of extras, too.

Finally, massive tome of a book, John Landis — Monsters in the Movies (£4). It's over an inch thick!

😊
