The old ‘my telephone line is also my internet line’ was an interesting problem. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a Sci-Fi movie with a similarly mundane, disrupting feature in their imagined technology. Wonder if there were any 1950s movies that were like “In the future we have this planet annihilating laser, but its engine is powered by the percolator. And its very fragile. So just a heads up, you cannot make space coffee on the same day you blow up a planet.”

Come cimelio

💚 Thread Thursday #14 💚

What’s a web trend from the early 2000s you miss?
What about that trend made it stand out to you back then?
Do you think this trend would still appeal to users today? Why or why not?
Was there a specific website or feature that embodied this trend perfectly for you?
What other trends from the early web do you think deserve a comeback?

💙 Flashback Friday #7 💙 – LiveJournal

Ah, LiveJournal. The birthplace of fandom rants, angsty poetry, and cryptic song lyrics in your post titles. LiveJournal was more than just a blogging platform—it was a cultural cornerstone for internet communities before the rise of social media.

basementcommunity.comall forums | basement communitybasement community is a community message board for talking about general things and specific things okay?

It's been 2.5 years since my #introductions so here's an update!

I'm an #artist here to meet friends and build community, as well as for #art #commissions ! I occasionally post/repost things listed under my bio "Topics" :)

90% of what I paint is #animals related, especially involving #characterdesign, #landscape s, & #gameart

I'm a long time #internet dweller / fan of the #oldweb since the early 2000's. I've seen the internet change a lot aaand now I sound super old. 😂
