The #canyon of the #Piva River in #Montenegro near #Mratinje - very close to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina - for #MountainMonday. Unfortunately we were only passing through the country, and didn't spend much time in Bosnia-Herzegovina either, but this region is so lush and wild and beautiful, I wish we could go again and explore more!

A wide, slightly high-angle shot shows a dramatic mountain gorge with a turquoise river flowing through it, as seen from a bridge. The foreground features a bright blue metal railing of the bridge, which runs horizontally across the lower portion of the frame. The bridge itself has a grey concrete surface visible just below the railing. Beyond the railing, the view plunges down into a deep canyon. Luís #Montenegro was ousted a week ago with a failed confidence vote. Turns out he has kept receiving fees from various companies all along. Legally, but leaving major ethical questions behind.

Not all of the #PrimeMinister' s clients are known, but #Alpac is possibly one of those. That company appears as one of the business pillars of the centre-right party #PSD.

And there is something worth proper journalistic investigation.

After our boat ride along the bay in 2016 to the islet of Our Lady of the Rocks and the small town of Perast, we had some free time to explore Kotor on our own, and it was a fantastic little place. Medieval buildings in thick, pale stone nestled at the base of steep, mountainous hills with narrow, winding alleys and so many cats. We wandered a while, popped into shops, then spent the last hour or so sat outside a bar trying some of the local beers before heading back to the ship.

It's a bright, sunny, warm day and we're standing in a small public square in a city with a medieval feel. The floor of the plaza is tiled with alternating squares of white and orange-brown, laid diagonally across the space. Ahead of us is a church made from large, pale stone blocks just like all the buildings around here. It is taller than it is wide with a door in the centre and a huge surround over two thin pillars either side. A flag hangs vertically down over the doorway from high up with three long stripes of red, blue, then white and a gold motif in the middle. Two bell towers frame the top of the church. There's an alley passing left of the front of the church and another down its right side, and the square has over a dozen people in it, some coming out of the church, but most enjoying the sunshine and views as they pass through.

Our second port of call on our Royal Princess cruise in 2016 was to Kotor in Montenegro. Set at the end of a bay it's a truly stunning part of the world to see. After we'd tendered ashore from the ship we took a boat trip back out along the bay and first stopped at an artificial island created over the centuries by dropping rocks or sinking boats with rocks in the water from about the fifteenth century onwards following "a vision." A small church sat on the islet with a small museum and art gallery. This was Our Lady of the Rocks. Whether religious or not, it's still a gloriously peaceful place to be in the middle of the bay with spectacular mountainous landscapes all around.

It's a bright sunny day with an early morning feel. We're on a boat in a flat bay of deep blue water with mountainous landscape on all sides in the distance. The landscape looks dry with scrubby bush mostly low down on the steep sides of the rocks. We're approaching a berthing point on an islet in the bay marked by an anchor sign on a low wall of two large stone bricks in height that forms straight lines on this spot of land in the water. A small church dominates the space on the islet. It has an octagonal form nearer us on which a copper dome sits, turned blue-green with age. Beyond the square part of the church that heads off there is a tall, cylindrical bell tower with similar dome atop. Some small buildings at the far end of the islet and to the right of the church are made from the same, light stone bricks as the main building but they have orange tiled roofs. You can hear the lapping of the bay water against the stone walls. It's warm in the sun with a cooling whisper of a breeze from the bay. It's very peaceful.
