It also occurred to me to combine them and expand the collage/framing idea

black abstract skribbly calligraphic forms in chisel-tip marker on cardstock tags from a set of silk pajamas, with an irregular red frame across the top and bottom made from scraps of handmade art paper with a printed pink and red-on-red floral pattern

a quick scribbly abstract sketch in black chisel-tip marker on a cardstock tag that came with a pair of pajamas. The gestures are calligraphic, but do not form actual characters. A bit of red paper collage across the top and bottom of the image covers up printed elements including a qr code that would have been tough to crop out without losing part of the drawn image, plus I like the added color

another fun thing about this one is that for most of the time I was drawing it I had it oriented 90° clockwise from how I’m displaying it now. I usually rotate things different ways while I’m working on them to get other perspectives on the composition, and this time near the end of working on it I had turned it on its end and decided I liked it much better this way. It just seemed meant to be #MarkMaking #sketching #drawing #art

hey I drew another one of my weird sketches. trying something new with this one

marker sketch on card in green, black, and grey. sort of uses 3d letter tropes from throwies, but the forms and shapes are just abstract spontaneous blobs that don’t try to spell anything, and the “3d” effects are not very careful and look ambiguous or just plain wrong in some portions. The whole thing is pretty loosely sketched
