Overrode NSTableHeaderView and NSTableHeaderCell yesterday to get an Aqua appearance by custom drawing them myself in their respective draw functions... but refined it a lot more today!
(I removed most of the UI to call out the table view headers a bit more in this video)
Maaaaaan, AppKit is so fucking fun to use and make shit with.
No... I won't be shipping with #Aqua headers for the NSTableView but at least I now know I can override NSTableHeaderCell and draw whatever the hell I want and not keep the snoozeville boring flat UI headers they ship now. :) Flat UI sucks.
I will probably make some subtle gradient for the column headers that will make them stand out a bit more.
But look, AQUA!!!
These are so, so amazing! Plus, if you have the new MacBook Air in Sky Blue, the “Ice (Dark)” variant pairs so well with it!
Also, I can't believe #MacOSXTiger is 20 years old this month Obsessing over timeless design from the early 2000s is wiiiiiiild!
But honestly, @keir, I'm obsessed.

iChat AV walked so that FaceTime could RUN!
Ooooofff… look at those sweet, sweet animations as people enter or exit a video chat. I miss fun, whimsical Apple!
I can't seem to find this video "Inside Tiger" anywhere online... Has anyone recall seeing it before?
"… would love to switch to another platform but whenever I try KDE or GNOME my experience is always ‘not quite as bad as Windows’, …"
For more than two decades, I was a huge fan of Apple's OS. Yosemite was the killer, I switched to PC-BSD.
Now, preparing to switch from FreeBSD to Linux:
– whilst I do miss the excellent aspects of Mac OS X, the worst aspects are so bad that I'll never switch back
– I can barely tolerate Microsoft's desktop environment, and that's not because I'm anti-Microsoft
– KDE Plasma ticks more boxes than any other DE.
YMMV :-)
I miss #Skitch for annotating screenshots ("not available in your country"). Any secure alternatives for screenshot annotations? (I can create & paste screenshots via mac shortcuts, but I'd love to have something for quick annotations) https://apps.apple.com/us/app/skitch-snap-mark-up-share/id425955336?mt=12

For #MARCHintosh I got out my old intel iMac that was given to me like a few years ago to reinstall Leopard

Accsessing my blog on Safari from a Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. Pretty cool that I can accsess the internet on a now almost 20 year old os. But, I don't know what else to do with a Mac emulator?
