Here's another gorgeous set of floppy disks for a classic DOS game. "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" in a 16 color EGA version. This was released in 1989 on 6 x 360K, 5.25 inch disks.

When I was a little kid - around 4 years old - who couldn't read or speak English (my mother tongue is German), I saw my dad playing Monkey Island for the first time on his old Amiga 500.
I thought Monkey Island was the name of the protagonist.

Für die EGA Version von Monkey Island hatten sie ja nur 16 Farben zur Verfügung und mussten da dann wohl etwas mit der Farbpalette jonglieren. In der Szene mit der großen, animierten Leuchtreklame wechselt die Aktivierungsfarbe daher im Inventar plötzlich von Hell-Lila auf Rot. Das war mir bisher nie aufgefallen!

@et_andersson There's at least one case of straight-up censorship in the Sega CD version later on:
When Guybrush looks at the mushrooms inside the underground lava caverns, he says "I had a feeling there would be mushrooms in here." rather than "...in Hell there would be mushrooms."

@et_andersson In the EGA version, this scene uses color cycling to animate the sign, and steals the color slot normally used for light purple to make it work.
So on this particular screen, inventory items in the text GUI are highlighted in light red rather than purple when you hover the cursor over them.
I just spent a few hours re-scanning some of my old CDs from the "Bestseller Games" magazines. I know, these CD-ROMs are pretty much everywhere on the internet, but I wanted to have better scans of my originals. These discs are precious to me!
Here's the original disc from Bestseller Games, Vol. 1 from 1994. It contains the German VGA release of "Indiana Jones III - Der letzte Kreuzzug" for MS-DOS. Maybe it is useful to someone. Have fun!

Ich hatte das hier vor ein paar Tagen auf eBay gesehen und konnte nicht widerstehen: Eine deutsche EGA-Version von "Monkey Island" auf 8 x 5.25 Zoll Disketten. Anders als mein bisheriges DiskSet jedoch mit weißen, gedruckten Labels. Ich denke, das ist eine etwas neuere Variante.
Hab euch die Disketten natürlich gleich wieder eingescannt und hochgeladen. Viel Spaß!

As a fan of the original 16 color EGA version of "Monkey Island", I went through some trouble to find a decent German floppy disk version of that game. That's great and all, but today I learned that, for that exact game version alone, there are at least 3 different styles of disks and label designs. Holy cow, why?!

La he puesto al lado de un ratón de PC convencional para que os hagáis una idea del tamaño.

Other differences in LOOM EGA version 1.0 include slightly different text under the Lucasfilm Games logo, and a stray image in the GUI to denote the exit from the mountain spiral staircase leading back into the dragon's cave which was deleted in later builds.
