dana hilliotTerminé RedShirts de John Sclazi, à la sieste, peu avant de hurler à cause d'une crampe au (très) grand orteil du pied gauche (j'ai le pied grec).J'ai beaucoup aimé. C'est à la fois très ambitieux et très drôle. Le premier coda, dans lequel l'auteur, ou celui qui se fait passer pour l'auteur, se plaint du livre qu'il en est en train d'écrire, soulève des problèmes insondables dans lesquels seul‧es les écrivain‧e‧s (de fiction) se fourvoient (parfois, rarement sans doute, sinon ils seraient tous considérés comme fous à lier et internés dans des Unités Psychiatriques Spécialisées et soigneusement protégées de toute interaction avec le reste de l'humanité).(Je me dois de signaler, ce que mes innombrables non-lecteurs et non-lectrices auront tôt fait de noter, que dans mon livre Moldanau, le chapitre IV "ce que j'ai vu à Moldanau" et le chapitre VII "Finse", explorent précisément ce genre de problème. Qui est l'auteur . Et est-ce que ça importe vraiment tant que ça de le savoir ? (excepté pour l'auteur lui-même) La révolte des personnages contre le récit dont ils sont victimes est encore plus marquée dans le dernier chapitre, le VIII, "Une Ascension". J'avais placé mon livre dans l'ombre du génial Feu Pâle (Pale Fire) de Nobokov. je crains que pas grand monde parmi mes non-lecteurs et non-lectrices n'ait compris quoi que ce soit à ce que j'ai essayé de faire, ou alors ça ne les a pas intéressé, et, plus probablement, ils n'ont pas dépassé les 10 premières pages - tous comme les éditeurs. J'ai toujours trouvé stupide cette idée d'écrire des premières pages attrayantes. D'y aller mollo "au début". Mes livres favoris ne cèdent pas à cette facilité. Bref.)Le dernier coda du livre de Sclazi est très émouvant. dana hilliotUn des livres les plus drôlatiques que j'ai lus ces dernières années. En ce moment sur ma table de sieste/nuit :Redshirts: A Novel with Three Codas, de John Scalzi. J'avais bien aimé La Société protectrice des Kaijus, un hommage tordu à Jurassic Park (entre autres). Redshirts est typiquement un méta-roman, une mise en abyme littéraire (postmoderne comme on disait naguère), qui joue avec une série télévisée de SF bien connue des fans du genre - mais je n'en dirais pas plus pour ne pas vous gâcher le plaisir !(notez tout de même que les fans de la dite-série bénéficient d'un avantage certain, et s'en amuseront sans doute plus que les autres)La traduction française est due à Mikael Cabon pour les éditions L'Atalante (Collection La Dentelle du cygne, 2013)<a href="https://climatejustice.social/tags/JohnScalzi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#JohnScalzi</a>
