This is one of the best #VPN roundups I've seen recently and covers a lot of different uses.

I was surprised the writer thought the #mullvad payment system was unique. If memory serves #ivpn offers something similar.

The really unique thing about Mullvad is how well its #openvpn config files work in my opinion.

This means you don't need to trust any extra software, which I imagine is crucial in repressive regimes.

And I'm not sure #hotspot shield is a good choice based on its ownership history either.

That said, this is generally good advice.

I found this too.... about how to get a #wifi #hotspot to be automatically on at #boot
askubuntu.com/questions/146026 apt install dnsmasq-base -y
nmcli connection add type wifi ifname wlan0 con-name access_point autoconnect yes ssid my_ssid
nmcli connection modify access_point 802-11-wireless.mode ap 802-11-wireless.band bg ipv4.method shared
nmcli connection modify access_point wifi-sec.key-mgmt wpa-psk
nmcli connection modify access_point wifi-sec.psk "my_password"
nmcli connection up access_point

Ask UbuntuHow do I setup an access point that starts on every boot?I tried following Web-E's answer on this but when I connect to the AP/hotspot I don't get an IP: How to create a Wi-Fi Hotspot (in Access Point mode)? I had to use the default hostapd conf for it t...

Setup -> I have a #RaspberryPi #RaspberryPiZero2W running #linux #pios #RaspberryPiOS #headless

Aim: I want the pi to always offer a #hotspot #wifihotspot on #boot
based on the command

nmcli device wifi hotspot ssid pizerohotspot password my_password

Is this below a bad solution ?? -> I came up with this solution in the link below using a .service but fear it shows I am clueless? Is there a better way? Thanks!

A #browser on an #android #android15 device, connected to a #wifi #hotspot network cannot access a GUI in a browser at
<ip address>:8000
served by a #localhost computer with <ipaddress> in the hotspot network.
In my case a #raspberrypi is the local host, & is serving the GUI & also running the wifi hotspot.
On #linux and #apple devices in the hotspot wifi network this works fine, & putting <ip address>:8000 into a browser serves up the GUI from the pi to the browser. Can this work on Android?

Sigh, my town enveloped by more thunderstorms atm, #BoM radar ugly with lotsa red & black, ergo, #modem unplugged again. Damn t/s won't move away, so modem off for longhaul, oh noes, how do i do my interwebzing & browserising now, woe is me, alack alas.

Oh, wait a tick, that loathsome fruity mobile phone can do mobile wifi hotspotting... never tried this before [only usb tethering, on previous androids]. Where's my cheapo USB wifi #dongle? Ah, here it is, bung it into pooter usb slot. Now, where's the wifi #hotspot stuff on the fruit fone? Ah, here it is.

Click buzz whirr ... oh yay, it works, online again. 💃

Comment on a discord server about #ISP #blocking #reticulum on wired #wan and #lan in #uk

" I have a strange block using my home ISP connection for #Nomad network. Virgin Hub 3.0 is blocking Reticulum data. Enable #DMZ to laptop and it works fine. Disable DMZ again and it still works ! Disable #firewall and it stops working ! Very weird. Connection via phone #hotspot works all the time... Any ideas as to what the problem could be ? "
