Top 10 Best #Grafana Dashboards for Service Monitoring
This article ranks the top 10 best Grafana dashboards for service monitoring.
What is Grafana?
Grafana is a powerful tool for creating custom dashboards to visualize metrics from various data sources like Prometheus, Elasticsearch, and more. While you can build dashboards from scratch, the Grafana community and other resources offer many pre-built dashboards that can be highly ...

Started building my entire infrastructure monitoring solution from scratch!
- Powered by FreeBSD!
- Using Jails and seperation of duty:
- One Jail running Grafana and Prometheus
- One Jail running Netbird Wireguard to connect my infra securely
- One Jail running Nginx and Certbot
All ZFS based for backup / snapshots and rollback options.
Routed and NAT'ed via a seperate dedicated pf jail.
All working fine, I get first metrics and can start slowly improve from here.
Todo:
- Alerts via AlertManager
- Log-Ingestion via promtail
- Log analysis with Grafana Loki
- Adding remaining servers via WireGuard Mesh VPN
- Adding another Jail for Uptime-Kuma
Live now with my colleagues Jay Clifford and Salva Corts to talk about structured metadata in this month's @grafana #loki community call! https://youtube.com/live/IKdRzjwFXYI
How to Deploy a Telegraf, #InfluxDB and #Grafana Stack on #Debian #VPS
This article provides a guide demonstrating how to deploy a Telegraf, InfluxDB and Grafana stack on #Debian VPS server. Commonly known as TIG, Telegraf, InfluxDB and Grafana collectively make a powerful monitoring stack on your Debian VPS server.
With InfluxDB for data storage, #Telegraf for data collection, and Grafana for data ...

In case you missed it, #Grafana Labs donated Grafana Beyla to the CNCF #OpenTelemetry Project, under the project name OpenTelemetry eBPF Instrumentation (OBI) earlier this year.

Maybe, instead of trying to do my own version of reinventing the wheel I really should just stick with what is out there:
#nodeExporter, #prometheus, pre-made #grafana dashboards.
I mentioned `collectd`, that's feeding into InfluxDB and visualised by Grafana.
I plan to write a small Python script that'll read the data recorder on the PMC-512 and pump that into InfluxDB, but in the meantime, this gets me going.
`collectd`'s Modbus plug-in is quite an idiosyncratic beast to get right. I wouldn't recommend it to be honest. Each data point is a separate read. #Grafana #collectd #energy
Have I mentioned before how much I dislike docker and Home Assistant?
In the campervan, I've put an old NUC running Proxmox. I've got VMs running #Zigbee2MQTT, #mosquitto, #NodeRed, #influxdb and #grafana. Rather than use the NodeRed dashboard, I thought I'd have another play with #homeassistant. Connectivity in the camper is via a #mikrotik LtAP which routes over WiFi if it's connected to the home network or LTE if not. The MTU is 1400.
#Grafana hat mich gerade zum lachen gebracht.
Statt wie sonst in den Alerting Mails "[WARNING]", steht da jetzt "[WARNINGWARNINGWARNINGWARNING]" xD
Phew, managed to get rid of most of the #Kubernetes metrics I don't use in #Grafana. (And stay within the free tier.) Can strip off even more, but either need to do this on #Prometheus, or try my hand at #OTEL collector filtering:
Questions for #fediverse #SysAdmin folk who run #prometheus and #grafana on multiple #aws accounts:
Do you use a single Prometheus server or do you have one for each account?
How do you handle auto scaling EC2 servers which could change IPs at any time?
Is it possible for servers to push rather than get pulled from?
Please share any setups that could be relevant and boost far & wide!
Thanks in advance!!
