Hmpf.
Ersatz muss her. Schnell. Und zwar leiser Ersatz, damit das Ding auch während der Nacht laufen kann, ohne dass ich alles Nase lang besorgt Fieber messen muss an dem Gerät. Ich will ja schlafen.

Boosting... Specifically, your own posts.
Boosting your own post right away doesn't do anything useful.
Boosting your own post a few days later brings it back into the timeline for anyone who missed it the first time around.
But how about boosting your own reply? If a reply is also relevant outside of the discussion, is there any advantage to boosting it? Would more people see it? I mean boosts are not a part of the thread, but does that make any difference?
Once upon a time I thought yes, but later came to the opposite conclusion. I'm guessing you know the definitive answer.
if you accidentally share sensitive info in a post, you are screwed forever. There is no such thing as a deletion

If you accidentally share sensitive info in a post, delete the post as soon as possible.
Do NOT just edit, because editing leaves the sensitive info visible in previous versions of the edited post. (Previous versions are visible on edited posts to prevent "bait and switch" abuse tactics from editing.)
If you want to keep most of the post intact when you delete it, select the "Delete & Re-Draft" option. This deletes the post but puts a copy of it into the post creation box.
Every server has a "Local" timeline which shows all the public posts made by members of that server. You can browse the Local timelines of most servers by going to their websites and clicking " Live Feeds". You don't need to be a member of that server or logged in.
You can also follow Local timelines of other servers on certain third party apps including Fedilab and Subway Tooter on Android, Ice Cubes on iPhone/iPad.
More info about this at:
I think the fedi is the platform that you use with "public" as audience of your toots until you find your crowd and start scaling back to settle happily on "followers only".
...With just some toots being knowingly published as public.
I've also noticed one thing, those who do "followers only" for most of their toots are never people using the fediverse to advertise themselves.

Released version 1.0.3 of #FediAlgo, the customizable timeline algorithm / filtering system for your Mastodon feed. Incredibly minor bugfix release.

Does anyone know a client compatible with #GoToSocial that would allow me to hide boosts from specific instances or users? I am using https://relay.fedi.buzz to get posts from a few instances, and even though it is good, it floods my boost timeline, obscuring boosts from people I actually follow

Just to put into context the "copy & paste" trick on the Fediverse:
- If your server has already noticed an account or post, you can search for it and interact with it totally normally without any copy-pasting.
- If your server *hasn't* noticed an account or post but you know it exists, you can make your server notice it by copy-pasting the account or post address into your server's search box.
Copy-pasting is just meant as a last resort for stuff your server hasn't noticed yet.
Does anyone know of any general #PeerTube servers that are based in Ireland or the EU (and which accept English language videos)?
