Ich habe Deutschland verlassen, weil ich diese Angst nicht mehr ausgehalten habe. Was ist, wenn auf dem Hafenfest junge Männer auf die Bühne springen und den Arm zum Hitlergruß geben und niemand mehr etwas sagt? Ist es dann nicht schon zu spät? Ich teile die Einschätzung von Michel Friedmann, dass die größte Gefahr der Opportunismus ist. Ich habe erlebt, wie eine Region kippte, besonders auch, weil die Mehrheit sich nicht am Abwehrkampf beteiligen wollte. Und mir fehlte, wie gefährlich es sein kann laut dagegen aufzustehen. Wenn du Morddrohungen bekommst mit dem Satz "Wir wissen, wo du wohnst" und die Polizei sich weigert überhaupt beim E-Mail Anbieter des Absenders nachzuforschen, wer es sein könnte, weil " wissen Sie wieviel vom dem Kram hier auf meinem Schreibtisch liegt", dann verändert dein Leben. Wenn überhaupt Wochen Böller nachts in deinen Garten fliegen, verändert sich dein Leben. Wenn dein Gesicht in rechten YouTube Kanälen auftaucht, verändert sich dein Leben. Wenn die Zivilgesellschaft dir nicht zur Seite steht, verändert sich dein Leben. Und irgendwann hast du keine Kraft mehr mit dieser Angst zu leben. Und irgendwann denkst du, ihr habt mein Engagement nicht verdient und dann gehst du.
