Cozy cottage in green hills —
where my thoughts linger still —
waits, behind a black fence

that’s topped with cast-iron spikes —
old teeth with overbite —
grows taller while the fog grows dense.

On a worn wooded path
up to a high distant pass
that guides me farther hence,

what once had been my home,
all that I’d ever known,
has fallen to a past tense.

I have been in hospital for the last six days.

I have acute angina (that is NOT a straight line, you at the back).

Apparently my coronary arteries were partly occluded and three days running I had three mini "heart-attacks" as soon as I tried to walk anywhere. understandably I found this somewhat terrifying.

Dr sent me to the Western General in #Edinburgh, where I proceed to receive the worst "care" I have ever had.

Nurses: *wonderful.*
Doctors: cunts.

I discharged myself on the sixth day.
