From Lollapalooza to Detention Camps: Meet the Tent Company Making a Fortune Off Trump’s Deportation Plans

I just want to remind all my USA friends who have privilege and voices:

#EVERYONE should be safe from #extrajudicial #deportation and imprisonment, not just people who are "nice" or "deemed good."

Rights aren't a treat given to a chosen few, they are granted to everyone in the USA, yes, everyone, including immigrants and suspected criminals.

Do not fall for the lib trope that "good people get rights"

#DHS has enlisted the #FBI & other #criminal law enforcement agencies in recent weeks to conduct *welfare checks* on #children & young people who came to the United States without their parents, alarming advocates who worry it’s an effort to target them for #deportation or scare them.
#Trump admin officials say they want to protect young migrants from trafficking & violence. Advocates worry they’re being targeted for #deportation.

“‘Instead of hastening to correct its egregious error, the Government dismissed it as an 'oversight,’ she wrote. ‘The Government's argument, moreover, implies that it could deport and incarcerate any person, including U.S. citizens, without legal consequence, so long as it does so before a court can intervene.’”

>> Sec. of State Marco Rubio has written in a memo that Mahmoud Khalil is subject to deportation because “the alien's past, current, or expected beliefs” have “potentially serious adverse foreign policy consequences for the United States.” His position is #potentialThoughts are grounds for #deportation.

Meanwhile, #Trump can retroactively declassify #nationalSecurity secrets with impunity, "just by thinking about it."

" Marco Rubio confirmed... when asked about the visa terminations: 'Maybe more than 300 at this point' have lost their visas. 'We do it every day, every time I find one of these lunatics.'
Students at the University of Florida have planned a campus protest in support of Felipe Zapata Velázquez, 27, a Colombian student deported by the Trump administration following his arrest for alleged traffic violations."

From the letter Rubio wrote re: Mahmoud Khalil;

"...for cases in which the basis for this determination is the alien's past, current, or expected beliefs, statements, or associations that are otherwise lawful..."

Expected beliefs. EXPECTED BELIEFS. Not actual beliefs (which would still be bullshit) but just what Lil' Marco expects someone to believe. I'm sure that expectation won't be based on any sort of race/religion-led biases...
