Wie denkt er nog dat onze privacygevoelige gegevens veilig zijn bij de overheid (meekijkende politie etc)?
De meeste overheidsdienaren zullen van goede wil zijn, maar er werken ook rotte appels. Nog afgezien van ambtenaren die ronduit onbekwaam zijn m.b.t. het veilig houden van onze gegevens.

Curious to hear people's opinion about Delta Chat...
Especially with an eye on the possibility of mandatory 'client-side scanning' for messaging platforms like Signal and WhatsApp (i.e. turning these messaging apps into a direct eavesdropping device for the police), I'm wondering if Delta Chat might be a good alternative.
Delta Chat is based on email but it functions like an ordinary messaging app. It's PGP end-to-end encrypted, decentralised/federated, open source... so it should be possible for many people to run their own messaging servers, thereby circumventing (possibly, hopefully) the legal requirements of the chat control bill.

Unless the next step always was exactly this. To make it seem like a logical next step - optics.
VPNs are one tool among many to strengthen #privacy online, and removing #anonymity from their use deals a severe blow to their purpose.
This was never about #CSAM or any content online in #UK (or anywhere - #ChatControl is different but alike).
It was and is always about control of citizens.

Es kann doch nicht sein, dass Deutschland plötzlich als Sperrminorität wegfällt und ab Oktober kein Europäer mehr vertraulich kommunizieren kann? Wir wollen doch nicht, dass unsere Handys zu den Telescreens aus „1984” werden? Wir wollen doch nicht, dass eine europäische Stasi gegründet wird?
