: The goosander (Mergus merganser) is the largest member of the genus of mergansers in the family of ducks (Anatidae). Its distribution area is the Holarctic and includes large parts of northern Eurasia and North America. With a body length of 58–68 cm and a wingspan of 78–94 cm, goosander are significantly larger than mallards. The Red List of breeding birds in Germany classifies the species as „endangered“ (level 3). There are around 60,000 breeding pairs in Europe, around 25,000 in Finland and around 850 to 1,000 in Germany.

: The rock dove (Columba livia) is a species of bird in the pigeon family (Columbidae). It is the sole ancestral form of the domestic pigeon and thus also of the city pigeon. This domesticated and feral form is one of the most successful birds on earth. The rock dove is about 33 centimeters long, its wingspan is about 63 centimeters and it weighs about 330 grams. Rock doves feed on grain seeds, acorns and seeds from conifers, buds, berries and occasionally also on snails, insects and worms. The rock dove lives all year round in the entire Mediterranean region, in the east as far as the Caspian Sea and in Scotland, Ireland, on the Shetland and Faroe Islands.

The wingspan is 21 to 25 centimeters and the body weight is usually about 14 to 19 grams. The goldfinch inhabits Western Europe to Central Siberia, North Africa, and Western and Central Asia. It is absent from Iceland and central and northern Fennoscandia. It was introduced by humans into South America and Australia, as well as New Zealand and some of the islands of Oceania. It can be found on forest edges, in orchards, in field groves, in hedgerows, and on river banks.

Die Flügelspannweite beträgt 21 bis 25 Zentimeter und das Körpergewicht liegt meist bei etwa 14 bis 19 Gramm. Der Stieglitz besiedelt Westeuropa bis Mittelsibirien, Nordafrika sowie West- und Zentralasien. Er fehlt in Island und dem mittleren und nördlichen Fennoskandinavien. In Südamerika und Australien sowie auf Neuseeland und einigen Inseln Ozeaniens wurde er vom Menschen eingeführt. Er ist an Waldrändern, in Streuobstwiesen, in Feldgehölzen, in Heckenlandschaften und an Flussufern zu finden.
