I don't know if this is AI related (probably) but the autocorrect on my Pixel phone just keeps getting worse and worse. I have big fingers, I'm dyslexic and am a terrible screen typist. I NEED the assist. But increasingly my bad keypresses turn simple mistakes into two or three COMPLETELY unrelated word that confuse even me, and at twice as hard to fix. Grrrrr!

I can't help guessing that the Seaman family has had some surprises, too.

I love trying to type on my phone.

I wrote "restic backups" and autocarrot converted that to "testicular backups".

I've probably written "restic" a few times for notes or to-do items, but I've never written "testicular" there.

It's only #AI if it comes from the #ScienceFiction parts of the #Internet. Otherwise, it's just #Sparkling #Autocorrect.

Why hasn't *AI* been used so that autocorrect learns from all the corrections we undo? Time for it to learn that I no longer speeek suthern. ( but then, why do so many people ask me where I'm from? ) #ai #AutoCorrect #WhereAreYouFrom

I’ve turned off autocorrect on my phone and I think my typing has less ridiculous errors now. I do miss some of the obvious typo correction behavior, but I’m not getting wrong word replacements without noticing now.

Autocorrect on my android phone freaked out a few days ago (so not April 1st) and for five minutes corrected every word to 'bandicoot'. As you can imagine, it's not a word I would normally use.

Anyone know how that could happen?
