I know that the world is becoming an increasingly precarious place, but all we can do is control how we respond to it.

Meanwhile, we've booked a 2 week #Christmas holiday on our favourite island of #Anglesey, & that is our reality & always will be.

For #FotoMontag here's Beaumaris Castle on the island of Anglesey off Wales, taken in 2011. A very nicely-designed castle with wonderful symmetry and in a pretty decent state of repair given its age of the late 13th century onwards.

I first came upon this tŷ hir (longhouse in English) near Brynsiencyn a couple of years ago and I go over there every so often to sketch it and to see how it's changing.

I went over again today as I've had it in mind as a home for my ghostly figures 'y wraig' and 'y gŵr'. Having sketched it again and at a larger scale, I feel like I'm almost ready to put everything together and to start working on the lino.

Official historical environment record for Llanedwen church, Anglesey, created 1995:

"The former linear western boundary cannot be traced within the churchyard."

Sure. It took me 5 minutes, by a combination of site visit, drone images and old maps, to find it. Headstone dates were also a relatively straightforward giveaway.
