As this seems to be more like a true community, and I am looking forward to meet all of you, a brief intro to myself.
In '95 I compiled my 1st SuSE kernel and at the end of the century I had the pleasure to maintain the infrastructure for Caldera Linux DE operations - meeting amazing people like Olaf Kirch,
John Terpstra and many others.
Spent much time in infrastructures around the globe, from Japan and China to Finland.
Got some fun experiences with critical infrastructure and now I am CISO for the government, trying to make society a bit of a safer place for us.
Besides that I turned to social science, why is it that tech doesnt help us? And why do people tend to ignore security?
Therefore I did research at the Hasso-Plattner Institute on system theory (socio-technical systems and complex adaptive systems) and wicked problems.
Besides that I am lecturing at a University and try my best to help others - doing "good karma" workshops for journalists, schools, kids with special needs, etc.
Long story short, looking forward to meet all of you
