Weird to think there may be truth to the fact that a sitting US President is lying about trade negotiations, and the President of China is instead the voice of reason and truth. China has no reason to lie about not talking to the US President. Conversely, the US President has a vested interest in suggesting we are in talks with China to save his haphazard economic policies. #trumptariffs

One of our daughters tells me that her workplace is "doing a whole lot of internal shuffling" to avoid layoffs. They get a lot of their materials from China.

A dear friend tells me that at her workplace yesterday, 40 percent of the staff was let go. It's a mail-order catalog. You guessed the problem. She's the only copywriter, now.

Tariffs don't hurt the countries they're levied against. They hurt the people of the country imposing them.

The fog of the US-China #TradeWar thickens. On Thursday in Beijing, both the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said currently there are no ongoing trade talks between China and the United States.

The Ministry of Commerce spokesperson was unequivocal:
“I would like to emphasize that currently there are no ongoing economic or trade negotiations between China and the United States.
