Incredible Bush Camping At Seven Emu Station
We think that Seven Emu station in the NT offers the best bush camping in the whole of Australia. Best we've seen, anyway. Their website claims they offer "the ultimate self-drive wilderness adventure on a genuine Australian outback cattle station" and we think that's about right.

#WritersCoffeeClub 28. How do you write sensory experiences that fall beyond the usual five? Give an example.

In Buddhist philosophy, thought is considered one of the senses. I do alot of that. I also do frequent altered states scenes. I am currently working on one involving sensory experiences, including the detection of motion and UV. There is a side character team where one character is a telepathic receiver and the other is a thought amplifier.

The first thing I noticed was the sun’s warmth. It was a peculiar, airy, heady sensation that rippled from the crown of my head to my feet, not just warmth but a deeply satisfying tingling, making me feel more alive than I had ever felt before. Then I noticed another sensation seeping up from my feet: thick, sweet, cool, and calming.

The anxiety and tension in my body melted away, and the nausea in my belly ebbed. My legs felt steady, my shoulders relaxed, and my spine straightened.

Down the mountain, the spirits and tsukumogami milled in a hectic dance. The bells and lanterns’ cries seemed like summer cicada, a brief disturbance that would soon pass. The fireballs streamed up the slope past me into the grove. I could hear leaves rustle behind me and then grow silent, and like a new sense, I could feel serenity replace their agitation.

At the same time, my senses expanded, encompassing everything around me: a green mountain panorama, brother pines, sister sakura, and Hanayome-shin beside me, a radiant sakura tree. Her branches entwined with mine. Bush warblers lit on her limbs and began singing to a flock of wagtails that danced and flitted in my branches.

“Ah,” I thought. “Someone should have warned me that the ritual was more than symbolic.” The thought didn’t disturb me. I was content to remain on this mountain, soaking up the sun, rain, and earth.

“I have honored you,” the rustling leaves murmured. “This is the first time in half a century I have shown this to anyone

Taken sometime in the 1990s, this film photo is included in my recently created *photo blog* entitled Temporal Fragments, which can be found at cosmicfuz.com. See https://cosmicfuz.com/photo-memory/ for this specific post.

I launched a new website after becoming frustrated with only posting on social media platforms, before abandoning the big ones entirely. The website is built using wordpress and hosted on a Canadian server, under my own domain. Almost no one knows about the website, and no subscription is available for now. The intent is to present photos in groups along with some text. Still a work in progress, the site should help me to practice my storytelling craft. It's mostly old photos and stories for now. Happy to see where this can lead!
