@AutisticInnovator it hits different when you are directly affected by it. I think the #tradewar is great as it lowers the slave labor used in production (Chinese labor camps for #uighur and #FalunGong) while all the negative impact of the trade war is affecting only some country far far away (from me) that has benefitted from #slavelabor for hundreds of years (#USA).

I hope my country will use this opportunity to double down on the supply chain law to ban any slave labor anywhere in supply

You know about the #H1BVisas which the US uses to allow educational staff, tech and corporate workers, into the country, right?

This author at naked capitalism say the reason those #H1B holders are being #deported now is to allow them back into the US labor pool on #H2A #Visas. The "#SlaveLabor/Indentured #Labor" visa used to bring in workers on terms that are as close to #HumanTrafficking as can be, but 'legal'. #H2AVisas #Deportation

Today In Labor History April 8, 1864: The 13th amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, banning chattel slavery. However, it permitted a continuation of wage slavery and the forced labor of convicts without pay. And on this date in 1911, 128 convict miners, mostly African-Americans jailed for minor offenses, were killed by a massive explosion at the Banner coalmine near Birmingham, Alabama. While the Triangle Shirtwaist fire, which occurred just two weeks earlier, elicited massive public attention and support for the plight of immigrant women working in sweatshop conditions, the Banner explosion garnered almost no public sympathy, probably due to racism and the fact that they were prisoners.

@adhdeanasl #JFC, victim blame much?! The Democrats didn't give people a choice, you know, the #LITERAL definition of their party. No DNC, no primary alternatives, just #GenocideJoe, an octogenarian with dementia.
When #CopMala took over, a black woman who defied Federal Court orders to keep California citizens locked up so she could use #SlaveLabor.
She was never going to win, when Americans hate Blacks but hate Women more. I guess #NeverAgain means nothing to you.

#Broligarchs want to do the same things on both planets #Earth and #Mars, except that on earth, they want to use #prisonLabor or #slaveLabor instead of microbes — Small difference!

"Using digital blueprints, a computational biologist explains how #microbes could #colonize space, produce #drugs, and generate #energy—highlighting how these models could shape the future of #biotechnology, #medicine, and #space exploration."

Today in Labor History December 23, 1617: America's first penal colony was established in Virginia, creating a “safe, humane home” [sic] for the nascent country's future class war prisoners. Between 1615 and 1699, English courts sent 2,300 convicts to toil in the American colonies, mostly in Maryland and Virginia. Between 1700 and 1775, they sent 52,200 convicts, more than 20,000 of to Virginia. Some were as young as nine and ten. They were cheaper than white indentured slaves and black chattel slaves. Many worked on tobacco plantations.

“The skit highlighted the ramifications of these practices for #consumers who unknowingly purchase #toxic products or products made with #SlaveLabor,” she added. At one point in the faux ad, Gyllenhaal incurs a nosebleed after sniffing his supposedly lead-free button down—a nod to the fact that many shoppers are largely uninformed about both the origins and the content of the products they buy.
