#Australia / Radio station sacks cricket journalist o over Gaza posts

Australian radio station #SEN dismissed cricket journalist Peter Lalor for social media activity concerning Israeli attacks in Gaza, including reposts accusing Israel of genocide, citing insensitivity and accusations of antisemitism. Lalor stated he was told his commentary made some Jewish listeners feel unsafe, a claim SEN alluded to by mentioning the need to respect community fears.

[…] "I was told my retweeting was not balanced, and insensitive to one side and that many people had complained," he said in a statement to subscribers on his Cricket et Al substack.

Cricketer Usman Khawaja defended Lalor, asserting that supporting Palestinians is not antisemitic and is about justice and human rights, criticizing the Israeli government's actions.
