Frinton-on-Sea has always been a bit snooty. No pubs were allowed, and instead of "keep off the grass" signs they had ones that read "no picnicking upon the greensward". An old railway advert, seeking to attract ferry passengers said "Harwich for the Continent". It was invariably defaced with "and Frinton for the incontinent"

The light was constantly changing and my job was to bag the bench opposite this viewpoint so my husband could photograph it when the light was right.
