Holy cow, this was a bit tricky. Earlier tonight, I had found some "Space Quest" disk images from an old Apple IIgs. I wanted to check them out in ScummVM.
First, I had to find a way to extract the data from these A2R images, then rename and collect all of the necessary files. Took me quite a while to get the in-game music playing, but in the end ... everything worked! The game's soundtrack on the IIgs is glorious! It's even better than what's possible on the Amiga!
These are the disk images I'd found:

So while I was up all night hacking and wheezing I finally got around to installing #scummvm and I indulged myself in a few games that I never got around to at the time. Didn't finish any obviously but have to say, the Blade Runner point-and-click from the 90s is not bad at all.
It being Sunday and my throat out of commission, there will be no musical shenanigans at all, so I believe I will make some baguettes, maybe some brioches, and see if I can retire these skin jobs.
Does the fedi have a good #streaming system yet? Cause I'd stream it, and my hacking, I have a HDMI capture card and the necessaries, but I don't wanna go on Twitch.
Playing through the 1995 Discworld game, which I missed as a kid.
It's abstruse and hard, but so funny.
ScummVM stable has a bug that will lock you out of the game menu but the daily build had a patch that works. Also now shaders are a thing apparently, so I don't need to plug in the CRT anymore and can play on the go.
What is helping me a lot is the Universal Hint System that provides enough guidance without completely spoiling the fun.

I might just switch over to a walkthrough anyway because some of the puzzles are really really hard.
I've finished #Shenmue (wow what a game!) and have started Shenmue 2. But I usually have 2 games going at a time. My backlog:
Inner World - The Last Wind Monk
Pentiment
Grim Fandango
Paradise Killer
The Book of Unwritten Tales 2
It Came From The Desert
Flight of the Amazon Queen
Dreamweb
Loom
Monkey Island 2 - LeChuck's Revenge
Amerzone
Blazing Dragons
Clock Tower
Blade Runner
Cyberpunk 2077
I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream
What next?

In the game you play the role of Mike Dawson, who just moved to a beautiful solitary mansion to pursue his dream of becoming a writer. You'll soon realise that the place harbors dark secrets, and you'll have just three days to escape a fate worse than death...

I return to #ManiacMansion !
As before, I'm playing via #ScummVM on a Nintendo 3DS, using the enhanced MS-DOS version of the game.
Last night, the game ended in disaster. This time, I'm starting a new game using Dave, Michael, and Wendy.
I supplied dinner in order to get my 3DS back. I snuck in some more Maniac Mansion while stomachs settled (#Parenting).
Leaving the Art Room, I'm still avoiding the ominous steel door in the middle of the hall. I'm wandering to the other side instead.
A parlor! At least, I think that's what this is.
My kid was curious about what I was playing, and I showed them Day of the Tentacle (less reading, spoken lines, easier for them at their level). They're fascinated. I suspect I'm going to need to put the Monkey Island series on there as well.
Assuming I'm awake enough, Maniac Mansion will resume after the kid goes to bed tonight.
