This week I worked on a Revox B795 that was sold to me as fully working and "restored".
Here's what I found:
- the seller mistook the screws to adjust the suspension for the transport screws, so the subchassis could move freely inside the box
- the motor made grinding noises
- subchassis adjustment was now way off, of course
- the mechanism to lower the tonearm was very sluggish and sometimes wouldn't work at all

Still a bit uncomfortable on my ankle driving it back, but it's here now and I'm healing a little more each day.
Spoke to Chuck Ward again today: he's an expert brass repair technician in the Cleveland, OH area, knowledgeable in restoring Schmidt style Horns. Found out he's now 78, and trying to wind down and retire. NTL, he agreed to help restore my York Schmidt copy (leadpipe replacement, possibly valve work). I'll be driving to Cleveland to deliver the Horn next week. 
Very glad I didn't wait any longer! 
Okay, time to look into what's eating the displays. I have player reports that some digits are unreadable. Fortunately this platform has a proper display test, so I can quickly identify the bad ones.
The last digit is hardwired to show zero. I was wondering about this when in the switch test all the switch numbers ended with a zero, this confirms my suspicions. Remember when I posted about the digital impostor zero? Here's one!
anyone have any suggestions on restoring a pixel 7 usb-c charge port? I have it charging again but it isn't currently transferring data. I took a rounded bamboo toothpick and cleaned out the lint. Does anyone have any experiencing soldering a new one in or any other suggestions?

I already had pencilled in a cross stitch kit I started in the summer, but I'm going to add to the list the Christmas placemats I started last November and didn't get done, and also finishing fixing our bell clock that I was changing the movement as the old one stopped working, and replacing the swinging clapper with one a bit lighter so the new movement can actually make it swing.

The small Bialetti stove top espresso maker was acting up. It would hiss in the middle, indicating leakage. And the inside just looked ugly. Note, I adopted this thing, and I'm not overly familiar with it.
I scraped out the inner rubber ring thingy (aka "gasket", apparently). I wasn't sure if it was glued in, requiring replacement of the entire unit, or if it's a part that can be replaced.
Turns out it can be replaced. It only seemed glued in due to previous use (and lack of proper cleaning). So, I searched the net, and Amazon declared it could help me.
But I've never ordered anything from Amazon. So, I searched for a local shop, and found one nearby called Anthony's Espresso. And there I bought some replacement gaskets.
I cleaned the Bialetti thing, replaced the rubber gasket, and tried it out. Perfect.
This is an item that can be repaired.
If the power supply was failing which would be reduced, voltage or amperage? 
Can't measure >10A with my multimeter, but the 12.08V output of the power supply are absolutely stable when the temperature begins to drop uncontrollably. Meanwhile the MCU reports it tries to give full power to keep temperature.
In my very limited understanding of electronics this indicates that my power supply degraded and doesn't provide all of its 350W anymore?

This generic Chinese remanufactured one, bought from EBay and shipped from a random part of London seems quite decent (feels more solid and similar to the original)
