The Viennese architects coophimmelb(l)au were commissioned to build the new Musée des Confluence. coophimmelb(l)au designed a UFO that hovers like a silvery cloud over the mouth of the Saône and Rhône rivers. This daring landmark architecture - similar to the Elbphilharmonie concert hall in Hamburg or the capital's airport in Berlin - turned out to be a spectacular multi-million-dollar disaster. But the image gain quickly outweighed these disadvantages. One of the few surviving traditional buildings in the Glasgow'a International Financial Services District just visible between the rather soulless and generic-looking modern buildings which now dominate the area. If it wasn't for survivors like this, you'd never be able to tell which city it was in.
