Ed #Davey, #LibDem leader, says he asked last week for a vote on any trade deal with the US, and Starmer did not answer.
Starmer says any deal will go through the known procedures of this house…but as I stated here last week that’s not a guarantee that MPs get to vote on it and if they did do we assume it would be whipped?

#PMQs #LibDem leader Ed Davey makes an excellent point. The UK PM should visit #Canada to assure them of our support in #Trump's tariff offensive. It should be explained to the present US administration as often as possible that tariffs damage everyone, especially those imposing the tariffs. #StandwithUkraine
This did work for the #conservatives as against #labour in the 2023 elections - although not against the #libdems - although a later study has suggested that the #libdem advantage did not persist into the #ukgeneralelection2024 . Not sure whether there is any evidence as yet about #ReformUk voters !

So tonight I went to the #Norwich South hustings at #UEA.
Sadly Clive Lewis, current #Labour MP was a no show…they sent the local Labour councillor instead, who struggled to get from one end of a sentence to the other.
#Green Party candidate Jamie Osborn was very strong and well received…particularly on rent reforms, #Trans and #Non-binary rights and #Retrofit.
The #LibDem Sean Bennett was really solid and did well on #NHS and #EU…but crowd not receptive.
So what about Tory and Reform…
