During the week of July 21-28, 2025, cybersecurity incidents increased with 27 data breach events and 11 vulnerability advisories affecting 4.94 million individuals. Major breaches are at Allianz Life Insurance (impacting most of their 1.4 million customers) and a supply chain attack on Amazon's Q Developer extension that planted system-wiping commands. Healthcare is the most targeted sector with 6 incidents. Ransomware, system misconfigurations, and third-party compromises dominate the attack vectors.

During the week of July 14-21, 2025, cybersecurity incidents increased to 23 events affecting 46.9 million individuals, dominated by ransomware attacks (10 incidents) and the major breach being the CoinDCX cryptocurrency exchange losing $44.2 million and Anne Arundel Dermatology exposing nearly 2 million patient records. The week was marked by active exploitation of critical vulnerabilities in widely-used enterprise systems including Microsoft SharePoint, CrushFTP, Chrome, and Cisco ISE. Government, healthcare, and finance sectors are bearing the brunt of attacks.

**A government can fuck up with data protection just as easily as a private organization. But the shocking part is that a government can make a court order to hide that they have fucked up, while leaving the individuals at risk. Most countries do not have a strict regulation of how political parties handle personal data, and are usually excluded from most requirements of privacy laws. A perfect example of "do as I say, don't do as I do".**

My wife went on a mini vacation with family. I declined to join as I need my downtime, food experiment time, don't socialize with anyone time etc. etc.
She's cool with that so no problemo. Introverts must be humoured. I take refuge here as Blue Sky is so intensely political it makes my head swim. When I come here I see pictures of birds, landscapes and all manner of interesting things. I feel like a monk taking refuge in the Sangha. There is some political stuff but I ignore it here. Thank you for being the community you are. I marvel how resilient people are given the overall climate and I don't mean the weather. It would be nice to talk to people not of my generation, I was born in 1951 and have had and continue to have a good life. It would be interesting (for me in any case) to discuss things with people of other generations.
