Walking around my local graveyard this afternoon I was reminded of our local celebrity, Michael Greenwood (1731/2 - 1812). A mariner, he was press-ganged in 1748, shipwrecked off the coast of Morocco in 1758, and then enslaved by the Moors for 17 months. Quite a life! #Faversham #Kent #England

#Southeastern will introduce an enhanced timetable on Sunday, 18 May, adding capacity and newer Class 377 Electrostar trains to support an expected 10 million additional journeys. Following over 135 million journeys in 2024—a 7% increase from 2023—the operator aims to improve customer experience with air-conditioned #trains.

Key changes include longer trains on peak services, additional stops at East Malling and Barming, and improved connections between #Ashford International and Maidstone East. The timetable also extends services for events at Dreamland Margate and increases capacity to the north #Kent coast.

Southeastern's Operations Director, Scott Brightwell, emphasised the commitment to reliable journeys, while Rail Minister Lord Peter Hendy noted the focus on enhancing passenger services. Full timetables will be available on the Southeastern website, with minor timing adjustments for better punctuality.
