Another #Commodore64 board appeared on the workbench. Quite a few obvious faults (apart from the missing chips). I’ll see what I can do. #InTheLabDoingStuff

I‘m going to build an open source joystick today. Pretty excited about this project, the website for it is here: https://www.osa-stick.com #InTheLabDoingStuff #RetroGaming #OSAStick
Working on a replacement timer for my EPROM ERASER. Uses a TM1637 LED display, a little piezo buzzer for audible feedback, a 5V relay to switch the ERASER and a rotary encoder to set the countdown. It's going to have some fancy features in the end, like saving the last time set to the EEPROM in the Arduino and stuff. The code needs a lot of optimizations but I'm happy with how far I got. Also couldn't resist briefly displaying "bE7A" on startup... #InTheLabDoingStuff https://youtu.be/YX8TaoQqPpc
I built a C264 Magic Cart (which is a Magic Desk style cartridge for the C16/116/Plus4 which can access up to 2MB of software from EPROMs). It’s very cool indeed!

I heard Annihilation was about grief or relationships. I'm interested af in Scavenger's Reign.
I feel like we have a rough indentation / substructure of how we will process things from birth, but that every event thereon will shape it further.
As well, we know ourselves in reference to others: "I'm like A, not like B, but most like C. What lies beyond C? I might see myself reflected best over there."
"Rules do not exist to bind you; they exist so you may know your freedoms."
Parameters outline a given environment within which to experiment and explore. It's one antidote to Blank Page Syndrome, for example.
I have to disagree entirely about personifying the automated house in There Will Come Soft Rains (fantastic name), but otherwise yes. This is exactly my understanding.

It's also a good description of why I feel so confused by others.
People tend to feel more secure (than I do) in their identities as individuals, group members, and (neurotypical / neurodefault / neurorigid) humans.
Spontaneously decided to rip apart my shoddy EPROM eraser today and modify it a bit (the timer stopped working ages ago so I removed it completely for now). #InTheLabDoingStuff
Fixed the pump in my desoldering station. Thankfully nothing major. Video coming soon! #InTheLabDoingStuff
Both RAM chips and the Kernal/BASIC ROM were bad in this one. I suspected the 8500 processor at first (after seeing some data lines misbehaving on the scope) but that turned out to be fine. #BlueScreenOfLife #InTheLabDoingStuff #Commodore64 #Repair #RetroComputing #VintageComputing
This is to trigger the air pump. In the original setup, the pump is powered through the micro switch in the gun part (long thin wiring), now the gun's micro switch just triggers the relay and the power is coming directly from the DC-DC converter. #InTheLabDoingStuff
I hacked an automotive relay into my ZD-915 desoldering station. (Don’t worry, it’s going to be properly insulated with heat shrink tubing after the testing stage!) #InTheLabDoingStuff
Current status: I’m having waaaay too much fun building the new (static) Jan Beta website. Coming soon to a screen near you! #InTheLabDoingStuff
