I have a question about #Gemtext. It allows relative links but does not seem to elaborate. Do you think my assumptions are correct?

=> foo.txt a file in the current directory
=> bar/baz.txt file in "bar" folder
=> ../baz/boo.txt if we're in a nested directory, we can reference a folder within parent directory
=> / or just jump straight to the root

Given the #GeminiProtocol spec says requests must carry absolute URIs, the clients are expected to handle all this complexity, aren't they?

Is there a modern equivalent to newsgroups that is still minimalist?

I’d like something in the #GeminiProtocol spirit. Like just sync .gmi files as messages in a structured way. You need an authorized public key to write.

Clients should be able to read and write on #retroComputing devices even if server and the bridge to reach it could be more advanced (like an ESP32 or a Pi to handle sockets and signing)
