I don't know if I would call them student projects, but many of those applications are made for a very specific purpose (like transcribing audio, etc.) very much in the sense of Unix utilities that are designed for one or few tasks. FLOWBLADE Generators are Media Items that render into animated media clips when placed on timeline.

Currently there are three different types of Generators.

1. Backgrounds Generators are animated backgrounds.
2. Texts Generators are animated texts.
3. Cover Transitions Generators are incoming shapes that cover the frame fully and then disappear creating a transition.

Flowblade Generators are implemented as Python scripts using Fluxity API.

FLOWBLADE 2.20 released. Some of the new features include:

1. Rendered Stabilized Media Item creation is now possible.
2. Duplicate Sequence feature allows creating copies of Sequences.
3. Generator Templates feature makes possible to create Generators with user set properties to avoid having to set properties multiple times when creating Generators.

FLOWBLADE 2.20 released. This powerful video editor now uses SDL2 video playback for Flatpak on all systems with MLT 7.30 or higher. But video playback for native Wayland without XWayland or for GTK4 does not currently seem possible with SDL.

Motion tracking is a technique used to record and analyze the movement of an object or element in a video clip, then apply that movement data to another object or effect, like a particle emitter, filter, or text.
