EuroPython 2025Beginners' Day | EuroPython 2025 | July 14th-20th 2025 | Prague, Czech Republic & RemoteThis year we're hosting a special day for beginners.

Day 1 at @djangoconeurope surrounded by nice people, unicorn balloons, and smells of the morning fry-up nearby (now I'm also hungee 😆).

I'm so excited to be at my first #djangoconeurope. Welcome to all guests to Dublin! 👋☘️

I'm on the Code of Conduct team and running #DjangoGirls Dublin workshop this year.

I'm also happy to talk about @europython @pyladiesdub @ThePSF - I've many hats on this week.

Anyone else from @pythonie
here?

If you are coming to #Europython and have a login for the EPS discord server - and if you have access to the „25-Programme“ area: There's a post which lets you vote for your favorite keynote speakers.

It’s easy to miss stuff like this on discord, so I’m glad @cmaureir sent out a reminder.

Don’t delay if you want to influence the results.

[Edited to mention that not everyone on the server may have access]

Spent most of the evening reviewing talk suggestions for #Europython. This is pretty hard - because a review decision really effects people.

I'm doing this for the first time. On average it takes me 20 minutes per review.

Half of it is research. To check if the topic has relevance and if Europython or other PyCons have already covered it.

If everybody else takes as long as me and if every CfP is reviewed by 2 people, in total that's 16 days of volunteer time just to make this decision...

Hm... I'd really love to hand in a talk for the #EuroPython CfP closing in a week, but I'm so utterly drawing a blank on the topic 😂

So let's try something new. Plenty of you here know what I'm doing, full time open source maintenance, OctoPrint, all of that. If given the chance, what would you like me to talk about in the context of EuroPython? 🤔

Not 100% sure yet, but I might just visit #EuroPython again in 2025... 🤔

I certainly had a great experience there this year, and it's returning to Prague next year: ep2025.europython.eu

My schedule is still free there, travel costs should be fine too. Will ponder this a bit more and wait for the ticket prices before deciding for good. Reserved a room at the nearby Towers just in case 😁

ep2025.europython.euEuroPython 2025 | July 14th-20th 2025 | Prague, Czech Republic & RemoteEuroPython is the largest Python conference in Europe. We are looking forward to seeing you in Prague, Czech Republic & Remote from July 14th-20th 2025.

I was looking at the photos I took during EuroPython 2024 and was surprised to see how many great people I met in few days 🫂

Since there were too many photos I made a collage of all of them with PhotoCollage a Python package 🖼️

It's a wrap! What an incredible experience has this year's @europython been! So many interesting talks and so many opportunities to network and socialize. (being shy, I didn't utilise this to 100% 😅)

This has been by far the best conference I've been on, and I'm looking forward to the next year's one. A huge thanks to the organisers and the volunteers who made all of this possible! Děkujeme a na shledanou!

After accidentally DDOSing piwheels for years with every @octoprint update*, today I was able to apologize to @bennuttall in person at #EuroPython! Great success! 😄

* It turns out that when you push out a new release of your software and as a consequence thousands of Raspberry Pis out there pull in new dependencies, at a certain project size the traffic will cause mysterious spikes in piwheels' logs that take a while to figure out the cause for 🤪
