What kind of #Linux would I typically find on a Chinese #Allwinner #T3 board? Can I hope for a distribution with a package manager?

It certainly depends on the exact board, but I don't have such a device, can't check. But it might happen that I have to deal with such a thing in the future and like to adjust my expactations

gst-launch-1.0 is provided by gstreamer1.0:
$ opkg search /usr/bin/gst-launch-1.0
gstreamer1.0 - 1.20.7-r0

gstreamer1.0-dbg is installed:
$ opkg list | grep gst | grep dbg
gstreamer1.0-dbg - 1.20.7-r0
...

SO WHY DOES 'gdb gst-launch-1.0' SAY THAT THERE ARE NO DEBUG SYMBOLS AAAA #linux #yocto #embeddedlinux

Does any #yocto / #openembedded / #linux / #embeddedlinux people know what could possibly cause this situation:

U-boot loads and starts the kernel no problem, the kernel goes through its normal boot process, everything looks fine, it finds all the partitions in flash, and then .. it does nothing

It's as if /sbin/init just hangs? Without even printing error messages?

I'm gonna try to get xxsh (https://github.com/mortie/xxsh) into the initrd somehow and explore but if anyone knows anything, do tell

Does anyone here know how to do I2S audio output in #Linux ..? I've enabled an I2S device in #devicetree and and it shows up as /sys/devices/platform/fe480000.i2s, and shows up as using the rockchip-i2s-tdm driver. However, it doesn't show up as an alsa sound card...

For everyone wanting to test out OS/1337 there's good news:

You can just clone the #git repo or pull it as #zip:
https://github.com/OS-1337/OS1337

and then just run ./scripts/build.sh

and within a few mins it'll spit out a bootable #1440kB image in /build/0.CORE/ to put on a 3,5" FDD or run in a VM [may it be #QEMU or #VirtualBox]...
