### **Diagnostic Criteria for "Absurdly Rich Sociopathic Entitlement Disorder (ARSED)"**
*(Proposed for inclusion in future editions of the DSM)*

#### **A. Core Features**
A pervasive pattern of extreme wealth accumulation accompanied by maladaptive psychological and behavioral traits, beginning in early adulthood and present in various contexts, as indicated by at least **five (5) or more** of the following:

1. **Deficient Empathy:** Displays a chronic inability or unwillingness to recognize the suffering, struggles, or needs of others, even when directly responsible for their hardship. May rationalize exploitation or suffering as a necessary outcome of their own success.
2. **Narcissistic Grandiosity:** Maintains an inflated sense of self-importance, believing their wealth signifies inherent superiority, intelligence, or worthiness. Often exhibits excessive entitlement to admiration, obedience, or special treatment.
3. **Psychopathic Traits:** Demonstrates callousness, manipulation, or a lack of remorse in pursuit of personal and financial gains. May exploit legal loopholes, workers, or the environment without ethical concern.
4. **Extreme Privilege Blindness:** Exhibits an inability or unwillingness to recognize the systemic advantages that contributed to their status, often engaging in self-mythologizing narratives of "self-made success."
5. **Delusions of Grandeur:** Holds irrational beliefs about their omnipotence, seeing themselves as uniquely capable of solving world problems—often in ways that ignore or exacerbate structural issues. May attempt to reshape society according to their personal ideology.
6. **Compulsive Resource Hoarding:** Accumulates and withholds excessive financial, material, or land-based resources beyond reasonable personal needs, despite awareness of widespread societal inequities. Finds security in unchecked accumulation.
7. **Exploitative Control:** Uses wealth to exert disproportionate influence over political, social, or economic structures, often engaging in behaviors that reinforce their own power at the expense of the public good.

#### **B. Impairment & Consequences**
- The individual's behaviors result in **significant harm to others** (e.g., systemic worker exploitation, ecological destruction, destabilization of democratic processes).
- Despite external material success, the individual may exhibit **deficient interpersonal relationships, an inability to form genuine connections, or a deep-seated paranoia regarding threats to their status.**

#### **C. Exclusionary Criteria**
- The individual is not excessively wealthy.
- The pattern is **not better explained** by other conditions such as Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD), or Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD), although high comorbidity with these may exist.
- The behaviors are **not solely attributable** to a temporary manic or psychotic episode.

### **Specifiers**
- **Corporate Feudalism Subtype:** Characterized by monopolization of industries, lobbying for deregulation, and aggressive union suppression.
- **Technocrat Messiah Subtype:** Marked by a belief in their personal ability to "solve" social crises through technology, often with little regard for democratic governance or unintended consequences.
- **Neo-Philanthropist Subtype:** Engages in highly publicized charitable efforts that reinforce their own power, wealth, or ideological control rather than addressing root systemic issues.

### **Prognosis & Treatment**
- **Prognosis:** Guarded to poor. Individuals rarely seek treatment voluntarily, as their position insulates them from natural consequences. External interventions (e.g., wealth redistribution, progressive taxation, corporate regulation) are often more effective than direct psychological treatment.
- **Treatment Considerations:** Cognitive-behavioral approaches may be attempted but are often limited by entrenched delusions of superiority. Radical exposure therapy involving forced wealth redistribution may yield the best outcomes.

- This diagnosis is not currently recognized by the APA but reflects emerging critiques of extreme wealth hoarding as a form of maladaptive psychopathology.
- Further research is needed to determine the most effective intervention strategies, though historical precedent suggests wealth caps and systemic economic reforms may be necessary preventative measures.

BÄM, es geht bergauf, richtung Frühling! 👏 Nach Monaten mit trüben (eher dauergrauen) Bedingungen im #derechtenorden #SH, bei denen die Leistung der kleinen #Balkonsolar-Anlage 💯 im niedrigen zweistelligen Bereich dümpelte und die Tageserträge bei bestenfalls 0,25 kWh lagen, wurde gestern endlich wieder die 100W-Leistung geknackt, und gerade springt der Wert auf 350W. ▶️ Die Sonne scheint überhaupt mal wieder, und sie steht wieder höher und kommt übers gegenüberliegende Gebäude 😎 ☀️ Da fängt es langsam wieder an, sich über das #DSM #Lastmanagement im kleinen Stile Gedanken zu machen.

MDPIOut of DSM: Depathologizing HomosexualityIn 1973, the American Psychiatric Association (APA) removed the diagnosis of “homosexuality” from the second edition of its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM). This resulted after comparing competing theories, those that pathologized homosexuality and those that viewed it as normal. In an effort to explain how that decision came about, this paper reviews some historical scientific theories and arguments that first led to the placement of homosexuality in DSM-I and DSM-II as well as alternative theories that eventually led to its removal from DSM III and subsequent editions of the manual. The paper concludes with a discussion of the sociocultural aftermath of that 1973 decision.

Ich ziehe #Homeassistant gerade vom #RaspberryPi in eine #VM auf der #SynnologyNAS um, damit ich den #3DDruck-er und die dazugehörige Webcam über das NAS nutzen kann. #DSM scheint die USB-Ports systemseitig zu beschränken, so dass das über #Octoprint und #Docker auf dem NAS nicht funktioniert. …wobei mir während des Schreibens gerade auffällt, dass ich auch einfach das Octoprint-Plugin für HA auf meinem Raspberry installieren und den Drucker darüber nutzen könnte?! 🤔

Ho scoperto grazie a @jones_ "Introfada: Lotta antisistema del militante introverso" di Hamja Ahsan.

In questo articolo provo, partendo dal manifesto di Ahsan, a decostruire la tipizzazione junghiana estroverso/introverso (mostrandone il carattere storicamente determinato) e a superarla proponendo un'interpretazione dell'introversione in chiave materialista. Cerco poi di rileggere il fenomeno hikikomori come prodotto della società neo-liberale. Infine rispondo ad Ahsan con un anti-manifesto.

Mi piacerebbe scrivere una serie di articoli come questo, in cui, mettendo insieme le intuizioni di vari autori, viene delineata una teoria sociologica del disagio contemporaneo, da contrapporre alle teorie dominanti di stampo psichiatrico e terapeutico.

Today in Labor History December 15, 1973: The American Psychiatric Association voted to remove homosexuality from its official list of psychiatric disorders, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. In the 1950s and 1960s, some therapists used aversion therapy to "cure" male homosexuality. Like in Anthony Burgess’s, “A Clockwork Orange,” they would show patients pictures of naked men while giving them electric shocks or drugs to make them puke. In the 1973 vote, 5,854 members voted to remove homosexuality from the DSM, while 3,810 voted to retain it. In a compromise, they agreed to remove homosexuality from the DSM, but replaced it with "sexual orientation disturbance" for people "in conflict with" their sexual orientation. They did not completely remove homosexuality from the DSM until 1987. And despite the overtly torturous nature of the therapy, as of today, only 8 U.S. states have banned it. And only a handful of nations have banned it (including Canada, Brazil, Ecuador, Spain, France, Germany, and Greece.)

So my #synology NAS updated to a new version of its LInux-ish proprietary OS, #DSM, and now all my #Linux VMs can find its exports, but can't actually access anything inside the shares.

So a bunch of my #selfhosted services are 🤢

And I do not have the intestinal fortitude after this crazy workday to fix it :)

That's the beauty of being SUPER careful what you self host so as not to run anything critical path. Some days it's nice to simply say "Nope. You can wait! :)".
