Da kann man schon bedecken bekommen oder gar Angst....
Wenn man überlegt das die Forschung das macht was sie kann und nicht das was sie darf. Das wird bei schnellen Entwicklungen oft erst nachträglich Möglich sein, wenn überhaupt.
Wer weis schon an was die Militärs oder Diktatoren forschen wenn nicht veröffentlicht wird .

10 years ago, I believed 8 GB of #RAM are easily enough for the daily #work on a #computer. Today, I'm sitting on a new #Windows computer with 16 GB of RAM, filling it up to its brim whenever I open a browser window. Even when all apps are closed, 10 GB remain occupied. My usable RAM is basically 4 GB... What had happened?
Genau mit diesem #Computer hat alles angefangen. Ein Meilenstein nicht nur in technischer, sondern auch persönlicher Natur. Die "Faszination IT" ist heute noch der Antrieb in meinem Beruf und eine Leidenschaft. #amiga #retro #commodore
My first PC in December of 1994:
- 486 DX/40
- 4 MB RAM
- 420 MB Conner hdd
- Cirrus Logic gfx card
- Sound Blaster
- 14" monitor (mostly 800x600)
- dual floppy sizes, joystick, keyb, mouse, cd-rom
It was cheap and worked great. Problems started 9 months later when #Win95 came out, and 4 MBs of #RAM wasn't enough. I upgraded to 16 MB, and never made the same mistake again. Always have enough RAM, it's more important than CPU speed.
Results of my little survey. Why is Linux growing?
19% believe it is because of sunsetting of OS versions. Microsoft is forcing Windows 11 on people and a lot of people are not happy with that and some are just not able to run it. So with a choice of replacing the HW or the OS, plenty of people choose the OS.
20% believe it is because people are just discovering how good Linux truly is.
41% believe it is a combination.
21% think it is something else, with some mentioning SteamOS as a reason.
Whatever the reason, more and more people are seeing Linux as a great choice, which is only good news to me.
