The ANU HASS Digital Research Hub is advertising a research software engineering position, to contribute to the Social Science Research Infrastructure Network (SSRIN) project, funded by ARDC and led by University of Queensland. It would be a great role for someone interested in computational social science and/or research software engineering.

At the end of the semester in my data analysis and visualization course, we're working on mapping. Here's the exercise for next week. Mapping NYC restaurant inspection grades. #DataAnalysis #DataViz #Mapping #Sociology #ComputationalSocialScience
I'm continuing to look for a text to use in a class in categorical data analysis I'll be teaching. I'm reading Alan Agresti's book _Analysis of Ordinal Categorical Data_. It is well written and, I think accessible to the students in program. Best I've seen so far.
Hi all, I'm a french physicist from Marseille.
I work at the interface between statistical physics, network science and sociology (sometimes labelled #sociophysics or #ComputationalSocialScience). I'm basically interested in universal properties in human behaviour, and the mechanisms responsible for these properties.
I also teach maths, network science and Python in Aix-Marseille Univ.
Very pleased to see that our work on emojis got accepted at the **Fourth Conference on Computational Humanities Research** #chr2023.

If you are also attending the conference, let me know so we can meet up in Paris! #computationalsocialscience #emojis #academic #AcademicResearch #language #computational #sociolinguistics
My book _Mapping Texts_ with https://sciences.social/@mtaylor_soc officially has a cover!

#Introduction: I am a PhD-candidate at #WUR where I do comparative research on the impact of data-driven political campaigning. I am interested in all things #PoliticalCommunication and #computationalSocialScience
I just migrated to a new instance, which is a good occasion for a formal #introduction.
So, hi! I'm wrapping up my PhD in #sociology; I use digital and #computationalsocialscience methods to study experiences of community for #LGBTQ / #queer people and places.
I've done lots of work with #Rstats / #tidyverse, and I'm getting better with #Python, especially for #nlproc and text-as-data methods as they relate to applied social science questions.
Can't promise to be super active on here while I'm dissertating and interviewing for jobs, but I might share some snippets of my in-progress stuff.
I am a complexity & network scientist, prof. of physics at the U. of Padua, where I lead the @ComuneLab
I am interested into #StatisticalPhysics of #ComplexSystems and #NetworkScience from cells to societies!
#ComplexNetworks #NetworkMedicine #ComputationalEpidemiology #OriginOfLife #ClimateChange #HumanBehavior #Neuroscience #ComputationalSocialScience
I curate #ComplexityThoughts: subscribe if you are curious about papers in the above topics!

A (re)introduction for a new instance. I use #machinelearning to study the #history of #literature and #culture, at the intersection of #digitalhumanities and #computationalsocialscience. I teach in the School of Information Sciences and also the Department of English at UIUC. Other interests include #scifi, flower gardening, and posting the occasional generated image that looks like a golden age book illustration.
Hi all! I'm a recent PhD graduate just starting out as a researcher in #informationScience and #communication at Cornell. I focus on the impact of technology on social relationships within teams / organizations, leveraging #socialnetwork and #computationalSocialScience approaches.
Hi scholar.social!
I'm a doctoral researcher in #politicalscience, and I plan to test #Habermas sluice-model of argument flow from periphery to core.
I'm also interested in #argumentmining and #computationalsocialscience in general.
Non-academic interests include server administration & service hosting, video games.
This is not my first account in the Fediverse, but this time I want to make full use of the "local timeline" feature. (:
